After Robots in Disguise ends what do you expect the next Transformers show to be like? Simple as that. What do you expect to happen and what would you personally want to happen? Here are my thoughts:

Possibility: Another show in the Aligned Continuity Family (please don't start a debate as to what is considered Aligned or not). It could act as a third "chapter" in the Prime series, with Transformers: Prime and Robots in Disguise being the other two.

Expect: An animated series set in the Movie Universe. I remember hearing about a potential series set in the film universe that was discussed at a recent Botcon, although I may be wrong. With Transformers: One (presumably) in pre-production my thinking is that there could be a spin-off series that takes place during the war for Cybertron. It could be similar to The Clone Wars (which also saw a theatrical release) in both setup and story.

Want: A show that draws in characters from across the multiverse and throws them together into a single show. Think about it: G1 Optimus Prime, Beast Wars Megatron, Animated Swindle, Armada Hot Shot, and TFP Bulkhead all in the same show (don't ask why I chose these characters specifically. They are just examples). This idea is the least likely but I could see something similar being done as a television or straight-to-DVD movie.

    Thoughts and ideas are welcomed.

I would want a show based in the IDW-verse with great animation and good writing. I expect something uninteresting like another sequel to TFP and I hope we don't get something set in the movie verse. I'd absolutely hate that.

RID hasn't lived up to the term "Sequel" yet IMHO. few references here and there, that's it. Don't know about Megatron, the Humans, Star Scream (may find out about him soon) other bots and cons. I know Frank Welker is currently filming the new Transformers Movie though so may not see him anytime soon.

Spinoff is definitely a better term for relating RID to Prime right now, but that's just semantics

I would like a show set befor the war or beginning. A fun littel story that introduses alot of Autobots for the toyline. It could be followed by a darker show fokusing on the Decepticons. And then end with somethin like Clone Wars were the episodes fokus on different characters from bouth shows.

I'd like something where they explore also space, as space gives room for more interesting adventures than just earth. Helping people everywhere in the Galaxy against Decepticons and other foes. That's what I loved most about G1 S3 and why it is still my favorite animated Transformers fiction.

    Hopefully up.

Something movie-related seems likely, but not a great move unless they change the tone of the movies. The movies may be childish but they're not kid-friendly.

I wouldn't mind something IDW-ish in terms of story and characterization, but I think Hasbro wants to aim a little younger than that. Still, that would be the breath of fresh air that I know a lot of us are hoping for.

Anyway, whatever they do, I look forward to seeing it. I'm always curious to see what they do with the new shows, even when it turns out not to be my cup of tea.

I'd love anything to do with IDW or FOC/WFC but don't see it happening as of the dark themes/violence and because those properties skew upwards of age 20+ (or more like 20-40) and are none too kid friendly.
A kidified version of any of that stuff, sure I can see that happening. I don't care. Just give me those future toys today man!
Plus both were developed under license as "their own thing", I don't think they could just start using stuff from those properties without permission.

Most likely we'll see another original show of some sort, exclusively owned by HASBRO (plus some rights for TV with whatever networks it debuts on) and then the tie in toys, as that is the model for Transformers, TMNT, etc.
If they made something based on fiction that another company has even partial rights to (even if made under contract) then would have negotiate a deal, or share profit, and that is a dead end.

I hope no more Aligned or Prime or movie related stuff.
I would like them to try something totally new and far less 84+85 related than Prime an Animated.
It should have an ongoing story and should take itself seriously cause thats what a lot of people want and they havent got it with NuRID.
And i want them to make an effort to alternate the focus of the episodes on different groups of an overall large cast, kind of like they did in the G1 cartoon, cause i would like them to move away from small cast stories and have a largely populated "world" again.
And i want them to ditch the robots in disguise thing and find another reason for transforming, mainly because i want more cybertronian altmodes but also because i think its limiting to storytelling having them hide all the time.
Maybe the new show can take place on another planet instead of earth, let them land on Nebulos or something, have them develop a complete society with strange but somehow familiar intelligent creatures for the TFs to interact with. If minions can be a hit you dont need kids in the show for kids
    to relate to
Or maybe humans land on Cybertron for once:
Some join the Autobots, some the Decepticons and some (the plot of the story) join a group of civilians trying to end the war by peacefull means.
I've been thinking what it would look like if the fiction was less warrior centric.
What if the Autobots had it difficult to lay down their weapons given the chance because of anger and revenge ?
What if the Decepticons where bad but not superevil and where able to listen to reason ?
What if civilians got the chance to be the hero by peacefull means ?
And maybe the humans could all become titanmasters or something of the like ? Obviously the civilian group would have to be able to defend themselves but they would have no offensive capabilities.

Well I think Hasbro is pretty much done with Aligned, I believe Robots in Disguise 2015 and Rescuebots will be the final series in this shaky continuity.
The movies' continuity will most likely stay as exactly that, movies.
I don't think it's wise to make a series based on the IDW comics, the storylines are indeed aimed at older fans in mind, the storyline can get pretty confusing and hard to follow which is not a good thing for a series, and some characters are written very poorly. (People think Optimus is murderous in the movies, he's got nothing on Elita in the comics and I hate it.) There's also the fact the Combiner Wars series which was based on the IDW comics kind of left a sour taste in my mouth to the idea ever since.

So I guess the most logical thing Hasbro would want to do is start up a brand new continuity, begin fresh.

Come on, that's not really fair. There's almost no relation between the two beyond a few names.

I'm not ready for a reboot yet. Just like those G1 fans out there. I have bonded with different characters from the same continuity/series so much as it would be so greatly bitter to just reboot and re-innovate the same characters from a previous/latest installment (I still can't accepted the way that the NuRID series handled Sideswipe but I'm okay to the original characters. They are interesting and fresh.). So, I would which to have another aligned-verse series with tighter connection to its prequel. :D

I know, I know. Yes in hindsight the series Combiner Wars seemed only to share similarities with its comic counterpart in terms of design and that's where the similarities end. Which I guess in the way would mean that CW is not a real TF IDW show that the creators claimed it to be.

But my other points do still stand since they were not based on Combiner Wars but rather the comics themselves, I had problems with them before the CW show rolled around. I got confused when it came to the story and I felt characters were handled very poorly.
But I can give credit where credit is due, I liked the idea of Rodimus getting to lead his own team since it gives the writers the chance to explores the themes of him being a leader without killing off Optimus and Megatron becoming an Autobot was an interesting new take on the character.

Since RID15 is considered to be a spin off, perhaps we might get a show in the Aligned universe that's actually made to be a "true" sequel to Prime. If not then I wouldn't be too opposed to a series set in the movie universe since it has the chance to fix the plot holes the movies have so far like the IDW comics did.

Not into IDW, but I'd be up for anything else. I've been kinda disappointed in RID as a sequel to Prime. I've given it a chance and I've been following it since season 1. I realised that the only time I'm really enjoying the show is when a Prime character show up :/

A cartoon based on the Devastation style wouldn't be too shabby. And I like something with a happy ending (or one that doesn't leave any plotholes)

Agreed. We need something to reinvigorate the franchise. I think that as of lately the Transformer shows were rather stale. A cartoon should be more dynamic if it wants to last: new challenges, new foes, new powers and new concepts. Not the same thing over and over again. On the example of current Robots in Disguise: after the Fallen's defeat not much changed, after Steeljaw's defeat - still nothing new. The episodes are fun on their own, but - to borrow the term from the box-office - they don't have legs.

Not to alienate anybody, but I think that the Transformers need the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic of their own. While MLP may not be everybody's cup of tea, the show did change the landscape of its franchise. The show's both innovative and solid (says someone who's favorite is the original Generation 1). It's already on its 6th season (and 152 episodes in!) and it also got a spin-off movie that started a franchise of its own. That speaks for itself.

In the end all I want from the future Transformers shows is to think much bigger than it did before.

How about a Lost Light type of adventure show?

What if they made a show that didn't have the traditionally recurring Transformers characters as prominent and instead put obscure characters in the spotlight? Like the female Autobots from the G1 cartoon.

I'd like something like a show where the group of Autobots are all potential Primes. They're on Earth because of a Decepticon threat (obviously). Optimus is there as a teacher, teaching them all about being a prime and stuff. And at first the Autobots don't get on well with each other, but as the story develops, they all have to come together and embrace their destinies, and become Primes.
