I know I was in school at the time. To my knowledge, I didn't know about it until after school when my mom came to pick me up. I really don't remember the rest of the day since I was 8 then.

I was watching the live news story on TV, I was five or six when it happened.

September 11th is also my parents wedding anniversary.

It amazes me how in my career I've went from experiencing this with students to having students who weren't even born when it happened or too, young to remember

i was in high school.. i'll never forget how beautiful of a day it was here in the northeast.

i road my bike around after school just to collect my thoughts.

i also distinctly remember being REALLY angry and wanting revenge.

Working at Nationwide Ins next to a major Federal building that we all were hoping wasn't on the list to be attacked that day, and watching the news in one of our many conference rooms with all my coworkers.

really? .. you're delusional if you think it was an "inside job". not only is scientifically and logically wrong, but it's insensitive as well.

Yes. Let's get this thread closed now.

    Seventh grade?

Thanks for making me feel so much younger now.

I woke up to some explosions and people screaming their heads off from I thought was a stupid movie on tv then I realized I left the tv on a local station and it was a live news coverage. Then the second plane crashed.

I was horrified of course then thought of buying that special insert the Gazette printed on it. It's either I lost it or I never bought it. I can't remember. I clearly remember people were selling them infront of the subway even on campus.

I was in bed, home from college and trying to enjoy one of my last opportunities to sleep in. My dad came in and tried to wake me up:
"Get up! Someone is attacking New York City. They just crashed a plane into the World Trade Center."
"That's no surprise. Look at our foreign policy. Someone was going to do it eventually."
    "There could be a war."
"We die or we don't. Sleep now."

It wasn't until I fully woke up that the events became "real" and started to actually sink in.

I was at work as a grocery stockroom guy. A panicked co-worker was on the phone with his wife, telling me America was under attack. I was envisioning an army and told him he was pulling my leg. But as more information came down, we figured out it was actually a terrorist attack. Watching the planes fly into the towers on the news later that afternoon was both sad and chilling. One of the stations put an Enya song to the video and I think it became a hit after that (one of the weirder things to come out of that day).

I was working nights at the time and my then girlfriend now wife woke me up and said we were under attack and that terrorists had just crashed into the World Trade Center. I thought she was joking at first and than realized she was serious. Spent the rest of the day watching the news and hoping like hell my uncle wasn't in the building. Thankfully he wasn't, but it would be days until our family found out (we were lucky) because of all the issues getting through to NY at the time. Needless to say I didn't go into work that night.

I was at work, wishing certain areas of the world would cease to exist or be atomized so.

I was in college when it happened but didn't have class that day. I worked that morning and when I woke up and turned on the TV only to find out that the first attack had happened. I saw the second attack happen on live TV and was pretty much stunned and like 3.8 mentioned, I wanted some pretty drastic payback. We got a call shortly thereafter that work would be closed that day. I will likely remember that day for the rest of my life.
