Any ideas where he might have been? There's not even a mention of him. He completely vanished from the highway scene from Movie 1. How could have they forgotten him. Even Scorponok got back for a short scene in the Egipt battle.
When they were talking about taking out 6 decepticons they should have mentioned his name in those 6. That would have resolved all of this.
they will bring him back in tf3 right in time to sell more toys of an update from all the fans that missed him
Barricade should have been killed at the start of the Movie other than Sideways that way they'd have been a valid reason he was not in it. The books are conflicting though - In the Movie book he is killed by Prime and in the reign of Starscream he is alive spying on the Autobots !
Barricade originaly was to be the guy sliced in half, but he got the stunt double to take his place for the entire movie (wasn't much) while Barricade instead was the security chief for the on-site filming locations (why do you think they hauled him everywhere and he gets a new toy but he wasn't in the movie?).
According to wikipedia, the guy who kidnapped Sam's parents had the face of Barricade. Maybe Barricade stayed in France to hump French police cars.
But let's be honest, if it WAS Barricade at the beginning, while it would've given us closure, we would've complained that Barricade got shafted way too quickly and would've felt cheated. This at least allows the possibility of him coming back for 3 and doing something effective.
I still say it was Barricade who captured Sam's parents in France then after everything went straight to hell he kept a low profile until needed by Megatron.

given how much the early concept art and the toy of Sideways looked like Barricade i am comfortable with the assumption Sideways was originally supposed to BE Barricade (the saw on the wheel-hand and the upward swept windows are pretty damning to me), and they decided somewhat late in the game they could sell more toys by renaming him/making him a different character (especially given Sideways 3 minute screen time)
Chrysler doesn't have the money to put product placement in. He'd probably be a Chevy Impala (like the one in Shanghai, I swear I thought that was Prowl [I tried to keep away from ROTF stuff this time]).
unless he comes back in the 3rd movie, to eliminate plot holes im going to say he reformatted into sideways and he died at the start of the movie.
