I don’t do anything for the sake of it, much less argue. I think what I think, and I say it. It’s not personal.

I like the Animated designs and I don’t feel the current Generations designers are up to the task of re-creating them to a respectable standard. If they could, I would welcome new versions of figures homaging Animated, Prime, RID’01, UT, etc. Do you honestly want the person responsible for Kingdom Tracks designing the next Animated Prowl? Do you really think that’s a formula for success?

Now that I think about it, I wouldn't mind getting toys of characters who never got "proper" figures. Animated Constructicons, Prime Hardshell, RID Clampdown, etc. Maybe pad it out with a few other do-overs if necessary. I think I'm at the point of not really wanting or needing updated versions of old characters, so retroactively completing old character rosters would be my preference.

You say that as if one guy is the entire design team.

Ha! Who is being unnecessarily argumentative?

Seriously, it doesn’t matter if it’s one designer or a dozen, I don’t think the current team is up to the task. The Animated characters are very specifically stylized and that’s essential to their character. I don’t think the usual CHUG brick is going to suffice. If Hasbro could find designers that could achieve that look using modern tooling, then I can assure you I’d be a patron.

So i have everyone but two characters for my collection of g1 cast, sureshot and pointblank okay so besides them what would keep me buying transformers

G1.5/2 characters are a really good start, more weaponizers i dont think i seen anyone complain about these and people troop built these guys, maybe even a voyager class one, More beasts hit into Transmetal 2 area, the toys from Transmetal 2s arent holding up at well, slap some beast machine characters in there as well the soft plastic used during the era ive seen to many toys break actually its why i didnt buy any toys from line because i seen them break like a mashmellow man, last thing try something new GLOW IN THE DARK, hasbro keeps going back to clear plastic how about giving us some glowing eyes or details

Things to avoid, Transparent joints, bland robot modes and alt mode i mean this is a real issue of studio series 86 perceptor, he does everything right except he does it in a way his toy seems so much more boring than his TR version

Maybe what they could do is, they could go and they could, make some more G1 figures.

For clarity, at this point, to me, Beast Wars counts as G1. G2 also counts as G1. There's probably also other stuff that counts as G1 now. Little help, guys?

From the perspective of what Hasbro has given some level of focus, yeah, BW has been included and G2 has benefitted from some repaints. But beyond that, I would never consider BW or G2 as part of G1. The inclusion of BW in the WFC Trilogy did nothing to merge those universes in my mind.

I agree on that note, they're a 'group' in my mind in that they get the darling treatment to varying degrees (and I'm happy they do). The WFC show did not do much for me at all. It's like everyone that worked on the show was talented, but there was a unifying element missing and so their efforts never blended together into a fine soufflé. I will still watch it once in a great while but only so I remember what it is and isn't.

I wouldn’t say talent was abundant in that production, but you make a good point about it not feeling very cohesive. I’ve leveled many criticisms at it, but hadn’t considered that before.

I love G1 and am glad it’s had its day (year, decade?) in the sun, but it really is time to move on.

This. You destylize the Animated designs and half of them end up basically redundant to their G1 versions.

Overall I think they should keep doing a variety of characters from different eras. For me, I've always liked animals more than vehicles/machines so I'm kind of over machine-based Transformers but if they keep making Beast Wars characters I'll keep buying them, at least the ones that were on the show.

I think the animated designs are partly owned by cartoon network so Hasbro doesn't have full rights to them so that could be creating issues when it comes to producing updated animated toys.

Personally, I want them to continue updating the G1 characters like Motorvators, Actionmasters and Double Targetmasters but I'm happy to see characters from other series though I don't like Bulkhead's face.

Non G1 characters I want to see updated:

    Movie Stratosphere as a Titan.
    Armada Sideswipe
    Armada Smokescreen
    Energon Prowl
    The Spychangers and G2 Gobots.
    Checkpoint
Armada Demolisher with his various repaints repurposed as army builders like the Seekers and without the grimace.
The Energon Combiners. They were too small.

Oh and more Siege Seekers minus the smirk!!

They should make some new robots that turn into other things, that would be pretty cool

I'm sure it's been said already, but I say stick to the path they're on now. We've had more variety in terms of what series get modern rep from Kingdom onward than we have since Thrilling 30. That line knew what it was doing when it came to options. It had G1, G2, BW, RID2001, UT & even IDW versions of characters. It gave us Earth Modes, Cybertronian Modes & Beast Modes, both realistic-looking & with cartoony blockiness. We saw gimmicks like Targetmasters, a Mini-Con Combiner & a Headmaster all in the same line before the Prime Wars Trilogy established all-encompassing play patterns across nearly all size classes. My hopes would be that Generations remembers the "s" in its name & keeps giving us different characters from series outside of G1 that we haven't seen in years, & thankfully they seem to finally be heading in that direction.
