While some rude men are saying opposite things, Tessa is a very important character, because these Films are not just about kicking Decepticons' asses. Due to presence of Tessa, you can understand, that Autobots care about humans just like Cade care about his daughter! Giving everything for her and forgiving everything. And TF5 apparently will continue this line because we have Izabela Moner's character. So I think Joshua Joys have found a good place for Tessa's education and Shane's job and I hope we'll see them near Bumblebee in his movie 

 

They were "hiding" in Prime's trailer when he transformed. That's why we haven't seen much of his truck mode - he doesn't want to risk them coming back.

I actually like Tessa quite a bit. She's not my very favorite character, but I liked her a lot more than she was made out to be. I would not mind seeing her again at some point, even if it's just a cameo.

I am not crazy about Shane, but I can tolerate him in some ways.

 

As long as they are gone for good I don't care.

I see people complaining that Shane and Tessa are annoying but I havent actually seen anyone give an actual reason as to WHY they think so.

 

This is an old debate so this is a rhetorical question, but how was it funny? What was the joke?! I'm sure it's possible to make a legitimate joke about the romeo juliet law, but AOE didn't even try. It wasn't written as a gag, it wasn't played in a funny way. It was just creepy, inappropriate, and another reason why Shane seriously let down an otherwise much improved cast, (although Tessa, while acceptable, wasn't an improvement on Carly by any stretch.) This is also another reason i'm worried about how Bay will the treat the young lead in TLK.

What would be funny is if the reason Shane isn't in TLK is that he booked him and Tessa into a hotel in a state where the R&J law doesn't apply (i have no idea how this bullshit law works before anyone points out that wouldn't happen or something) and is now serving time in a jail with his new cell mate husband. That's a legitimate joke! That's would be some pathos shit there!

Errrr... he can't act, he has terrible dialogue he delivers terribly, he's not needed, he's unbelievable, he's proud of having a license to bang underage school girls, he doesn't change throughout the movie, he looks kinda dumb, oh and..

This whole thing about the underage thing is annoying. Why are people making such a big deal out of it. Shane's only like 3 years older than Tessa, AND Tessa is already finishing High School so why does it matter? Its not like he's 25 or 26 dating a 17 year old (whos probably turning 18 fairly soon either way, possibly making Shane 2 years older than her, not 3). I think its wierd that he carries a copy of the law around, but given how people get all bitchy about it (as most of you are doing), I don't blame him since it helps set people straight, mostly because the age difference isn't big.
Also, your accents don't have to be consistent. Heck, my hispanic accent turns on and off every once in while.
Also, he wasn't entirely useless as he was the one who got the Yeagers out of the farm when CW showed up, his insane driving skills got them through most of Lockdown's giant magnet scene, and he and Tessa helped free Optimus (thus saving Cade) while everyone else was too busy either fighting Lockdown or keeping the Seed away from Galvatron.

 

The point is creepy shit like that was actually written as legit dialogue for a summer Hollywood blockbuster.

Shane and Tessas situation itself was not really the issue, it's not unusual for girls to date guys 1 or 2 years above them, but the thing that gets me is why do this in a TF movie? Who was it for? What was going through the minds of the writer and director? They could have made Tessa a year older, no one would have questioned it. It was awkward, negatively provocative, and inappropriate for half of the franchises target audience.

About the accents, i have to put my hands up, i've lived out of the UK so long now that when i go home to visit i have to put on a fake british accent so people don't take the piss!  

With Shane's driving, i mean it's hollywood, anyone could have driven cars like mo-fo-pro in either scenario, in fact ideally that rally car could have been Smokescreen! But yeah sure, as a character, Shane did pull his weight in those scenes, i'll let you have that!
