I tried this a few days ago and it was too early for it, so I'm going to try again.

For those who have seen AOE, where do you rank it with the rest of the film series?

    Options are:

    1- Best

    2

    3

    4- Worst

    Be honest with your answers.

I was flatly shocked at how much I enjoyed the film, expecting it to be far worse than the first three, which I disliked. It was far from perfect, and someone on that movie needs to learn what Foreshadowing and Editing are supposed to be, but it was the most fun of all four and, in my opinion, the flat-out strongest film so far.

I didn't think it was bad, but it was really, really tedious. I think it was my least favorite. I really didn't like the whole "transformium" concept with the floaty partsforming stuff. It looked fake and I just felt cheated out of what should've been some cool transformations. I also feel like they sidestepped any link of prehistoric earth and the dinobots by having them just as a set of trophies on Lockdown's ship. They didn't close that loop at all. Oh, and fuck them or allowing that goddamn MLP brony fanwank gag in. My rankings would be:

    DotM
    #1
    RotF
    AoE

    6.5/10 - Transformers; Animated Movie
(Good character development, good action, human plot worked into Transformers plot effectively, cohesive storyline)
    4/10 - Transformers; 2007
(Reasonable Characters, fairly short runtime, cohesive story)
    3.5/10 - Transformers; AOE
(Reasonable Characters, excessive runtime, over-complicated story)
    3/10 - Transformers; DOTM
(Reasonable Characters, short runtime, reasonable story)
    1/10 - Transformers; ROTF
(Boring Characters, short runtime, weak storyline, excessive bad humour)

You should really remove the 'options' you listed - as a lot of people including myself are probably going to vote without noticing that your options fuck up whatever we intended to vote for.

For example, I was going to vote to say that its the 2nd best in the series. Given your options that would mean I'd either have to vote that its "The best of the sequels" or "It's better then ROTF" - which is utterly idiotic as you cannot vote for both those points and thus the poll will be an unfair representation. Just put the rating system as one to four and have one being the best and four being the worst.

The poll doesn't work when the options are stupid.

Definitely better than RotF. I felt it was on par with with DotM, slightly better due to characterization. I don't think it was as good as the first, but I'll admit it may just be nostalgia (kinda funny to refer to that as nostalgia).

It's an improvement but still not great.

First one is still far and away the best. ROTF is obviously the worst. As for the other two...

I think I need to give AOE another shot, but much later. Seeing it in its near-three hour entirety on a humongous IMAX screen really did a number on me. I felt absolutely overwhelmed by the end. I will say that I really liked the general idea for the plots in both AOE and DOTM. I loved how they were willing to shake things up, by challenging Optimus with a betrayal in both movies (his mentor and now those he's sworn to protect). Optimus being so jaded not only was justified but really drew you in on the stakes. The Ratchet scene in AOE was mortifying, and the emotional payoff was perfect (though, casual moviegoers probably won't be too invested in Ratchet or Prime's reaction). I'm going to rank DOTM ahead of AOE for now because in general I felt it was a bit more coherent and the action a bit easier to follow. AOE had several standout factors, but it clearly needed to be shorter and tighter. I also felt the action cinematography in AOE was a bit sloppier than in DOTM, especially in regards to human action. The shaky cam reached new levels of crazy in some of those car chases (compared to the very smooth DOTM highway scene) and the Cade/Savoy battle. Also, I felt like there was very little room to breathe here. The Autobots had a lot of dialogue, even in non-action moments, but the lines often came right on top of one another. DOTM had a more calm, sort of pick-up-all-the-pieces period between the Washington DC scene and the Chicago battle.

I'll definitely be seeing AOE again, but I need to give it time. It really wore me out watching that movie on such a big screen. My cousin wants to see it with me this coming Tuesday, but I'm actually terrified to go through it all again so soon; I'm not sure if I can handle the bombardment.

Definitely the best no more annoying actors like the previous 3 I actually liked the human story in the fourth mainly Joshua's storyline but I just thought it was the perfect transformers movie, ton of robot action, great personalities for the robots, and it even perfectly set up a fifth movie with the whole Galvatron escaping and saying well meet again and stuff and Optimus hunting down his creators

I agree 100% with lazerwave! Best Transformers movie by far. Sure, it doesn't have as much charm as the first one, but this one is better action wise, plot wise, (Sure, it could've been better, but let's face it. It's decent compared to ROTF, and DOTM) and character wise.

    1. Transformers- It's easily the most well-made. I love the Spielberg feel of the movie and the wonder of seeing these extraordinary robots. Sure they didn't have a lot of screen time, but it worked to build up a mystery for the movie. It's so nostalgic for me. The human characters actually worked in this movie and I related to Sam in this movie.

    2. Age of Extinction- It had the most screen time for the robots and the best characterization. I liked the human characters. The villains were a real threat. The action was bigger than ever before.

    3. Revenge of the Fallen- It's not good, but I enjoy it a lot. I like the ancient aliens stuff in this movie. The forest fight is still awesome.

    4. Dark of the Moon- I do enjoy the movie, but it is so tonally inconsistent. Jerry Wang is by far the most annoying character in these movies, and his death was played for laughs. Sam acts like a bit of a jerk in this movie, and this is the only movie where he got on my nerves. Sentinel Prime was a great villain though, and the final battle is cool even though the military is shown way too much.

I'm voting on a "just saw the movie high" so it could drop a slot on the list, but currently:
    1) Age of Extinction
    2) Transformers
    3) Dark of the Moon
    4) Revenge of the Fallen
