I've seen a lot of Jizaitoys Transformers and I take great interest in purchasing some. Does anyone know where I can buy them? I just hope that they are not overpriced like most 3rd party figures.

Pretty much that---most are one-of-a-kind that he made for himself, and are not for sale.

Pick up the Fansproject Headmasters if you haven’t. Jizai designed them and they’re incredible toys.

He also designed the Battle Robo figure in Action Toys Machine Robo line, which is also an incredible toy.

He produced kits for Wonderfest of figures like Wheelie and Powerglide.
He was quickly ripped off and KO'ed by other companies

In fact a rip off of his powerglide was X-transbots first figure

then another group did his wheelie

    トランスフォーマー「完全変形ウィーリー」

And they are still doing it
New age recently cribbed/stole his ironhide design

So he stopped making them for other people and just makes them for himself now. Got tired of being ripped off I'd guess

The other really nice design he did was for a Cyclonus, IIRC it was a Wonderfest model kit (like Wheelie). KFC produced something very similar (if not purchased Jizai's design) for Cyclonus...he is named "Tempest" and is very underrated,IMHO:

Is there an official source for this information? Or you've spoken to him? I was always curious if he sold his designs vs. being ripped off...

I may end up buying the Walmart Headmasters coming out next year. I'm most interested with the toys he made based on the rarely seen G1 cartoon figures like the female Autobots and others.

I bought Wheelie and Cyclonus straight from him. I think I sold Wheelie (someone else assembled it for me) while my Cyclonus is still in its bag somewhere, untouched since it was bought.

What makes you think the design was stolen and not ripped off? One assumes that he sells his designs to manufacturers.

Isn't stolen and ripped off the same thing?
And Jizzai is basically a designer and peoducer of art toys. He manufacturers his own stuff and sells it.

He has a history of having his designs copied. He got famous for his Wonderfest kits, which were immediately recast and sold on eBay.
    Then there is X-Transbots.

Didn't know the Fansprojects Headmasters were his, might pick those up.

Another toy of his that got knocked off is his Super Deformed Jazz.

    Jizai's original render.

It's probably pretty hard to track down at this point. I don't think it sold many copies. I do hope he someday releases his C.A.D. files for 3D printing one day. I'd love to have more of his stuff on my shelf.

Yup. I spoke to him a number of years ago back when I lived in Japan. He was very proud of his work. They were essentially garage kits that he got the blessing from Takara to sell. But the deal was that he could sell X amount of kits at Wonderfest and that was it. He stuck to the rules and did not sell kits unofficially.

I remember seeing some of his work that the hobby store, Mandarake purchased and displayed. They were fun to admire and have in your collection as a trophy but they werent pieces you would want to play with. They were made of softer plastic and the joints were fragile. And although things "tabbed" together it sometimes was gravity that was holding pieces together.

Its too bad his designs were taken or copied. He had creative ways to solve transformation pickles. His New Year designs were always fun to look at.

Too bad Jizai can't do much about it. Or can he?

He can't do anything. It's a copy of his design that someone reverse engineered from images, it's not like they stole his files directly. If someone wants to go through all the trouble to reverse engineer a non-copyrighted design from pictures alone, more power to them.

Aside from them not giving him some kind of credit, how is that even a bad thing?
