Well the title kind of says it all. When do you think we'll get a shot at some Double XP? (I'm on Xbox, by the way) I know with WFC they'd offer it during various (seemingly random) holidays or holiday weekends, but it seems for FOC that isn't so much the case, at least not that I've noticed. I was hoping we'd see one for New Years, but that didn't happen lol.
I guess the reason I'm so antsy about double XP is because I finally hit 25 with one of my favorite classes, and I can't stand playing as a Destroyer or Titan  .

Anyone else hoping, or ready for another double XP weekend?

Update: They announced FoC now has double XP forever earlier today. Woohoo!

You should know by now that HMS dont care enough to support the game despite the fact it is their most recent available game.

 

I have a feeling we won't be seeing any more. It's been longer since the last one than the time between the two double XP weekends, right?

Well I played the game for a few days right when it came out, then I took a nice 4 month break from it, so I'm not familiar with HMS lack of support just yet haha

Same here. I'm average, if not poor at best when playing as a Destroyer, and I get by a little better as a Titan. I can mop the floor with Destroyers and Titans as an Infiltrator though.

 

Am I the only one who's comfortable in any class? I wonder if the whole specialization thing reflects personality.......

I love the scientist and Titan more than the infiltrator it's just easier to fight with the weapon choices love the dogfights as well for some reason though nobody wants to fight back its just a one shot run noadays so you gotta chase them down

 

My problem is just the weapons selection with Titan and Destroyer. I don't really like them, because it's mostly just typical spray n' pray/explosive type weapons.

 

You make me sad because I suck as the brute classes and I get destroyed by them, too. >.<

Every time I play as a Destroyer I expect to die before I do anything when a match starts.
As a Titan I usually expect a few kills before I die.
Sometimes I get lucky and go ape as those classes, but it's rare. Once as a Titan I got 22 kills and... some small amount of deaths.
So technically, I am fairly comfortable as all classes, just not all the time.

Off-topic: I find it funny that I hate on my skills so much and then I end up with a medal at the end of most matches.

 

  I have that happen to me here and there, like say when half the enemy team is nothing but brute classes and they all gang up on me. I mostly play Conquest & CTF though (I love objective game types), so 9 times out of 10, I'll be defense. Depending on the map, every time any other class comes to take my flag, they'll normally end up in the respawn screen for the next 3-5 seconds.  

Since Destroyer is the only class I'm working on to get to 25 currently, I just spam the Riot Cannon and Frag Launcher, occasionally I'll get a few vehicle weapon kills. Been playing a lot of Conquest in hopes of flying through it hahaha.

I th ink I'm pretty good with Destroyer and Titan. The key is to use your BEST tools. Ensnare Barrier and Slime Cannon with Cosmic Rust Dispenser. In order for you to offset the advantages of mobility that Infiltrators and Scientists have, you need to use the tools that make them slow as fuck.

For the Titan, Scrapmaker, Slime Cannon and Whirlwind is a potent arsenal, and if you ever see me play, I am lethal as hell with it. For Destroyer, Riot Cannon with Planet Buster is great, or ammo capacity if you feel you need it. Or you can rock the A-4 Pulsar Cannon with Transwarp Projectiles. But your primary weapon should be the Chaos Rift Combuster. It's easy to deal a ton of damage and to kill multiple opponents quick and easy. Oh, and rock Ensnare Barrier. Don't drop it preemptively...drop it when the opponent is right on top of you and they're slowed immediately, allowing you to pound them to smithereens with your explosives.

I'm a 2.45-1 player, only using Titan and Destroyer having leveled up the other two classes to max.

 

About 2 or 3 days after this post I ended up maxing my Destroyer. Haven't had time to play much since then, but the major things I used were the Riot Cannon with Planet Buster equipped. And either of the explosive projectile weapons as a secondary. I typically did better with the Pulsar Cannon than the Chaos Rift Combuster though. My Titan is a level 8 or 9, and I have Whirlwind, Scrapmaker, and Energon Harvester equipped. I may end up using the Corrosive Slime Cannon just to try it out, see how I like it, but last time I played as a Titan I did pretty well with what I had going.

I just miss playing as an Infiltrator.. While I like the idea of the ranking system, I don't like the way it's executed in this game. I wish they could actually implement "rank" to go along with the levels, but I don't want it to be like COD, where we'd have to Prime 10 times. Gets too repetitive. Maybe next game we'll get something a little different.

Agreed, it's the map that matters more than the class, and certain classes have certain advantages on certain maps. For instance with Convoy there is a lot of open spaces and sniper positions, making it perfect for scientists and infiltrators, while Spire has more condensed compact spaces, making it perfect for the high explosives of the destroyers and titans. Maps like array have more of a balance between the two.
