I was watching film trailers on YouTube and something came to mind.

A lot of trailers are significantly better than the movie.

    A few examples:
    Man of Steel
Man of Steel - Official Trailer #2 [HD] - YouTube

    Green Lantern
Green Lantern Movie Trailer 2 Official (HD) - YouTube

    Revenge of the Fallen
Trailer #2 - Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (HD) - YouTube

I found these three trailers captured the respective tones of the movies should have been. Especially Green Lantern.

Feel free to post some of your own examples. Agree, disagree, discuss, etc.

It's funny, cause everything that was wrong with the GL film is highlighted in the trailer.

Edit: I'd throw Dark Knight Rises and Iron Man 3 in too.

Revenge of the Fallen is my go-to example for when the hype fails.

Also, Watchmen was a total letdown for me when I actually saw it.

Generally speaking I feel that all trailers are better then their movie counter parts.

Transcendence. The trailer not only summarizes the entire movie from start to finish, but it is far more interesting than the movie itself.

The Transformers trailers are more artistic than the actual films. :lol

The Dark Knight Rises... I don't know, most of the things that are good look that way and most of what's bad looks that way too.

The Last Airbender's trailer was a lot better than the movie. That's probably because no one really talked that much in any of the trailers. :lol

Are you kidding me? Lines like this totally would have made more people flock to the theater than that other Avatar movie by James Cameron.

"They were throwing rocks at us. It really hurt."

It really symbolizes the Fire Nation's annoyance with the rest of the world.

Iron Man 3's trailers made me really look forward to it. And then came the shitfest it was. Heck I still really like the trailers to this day.

ROTF's teaser trailer also made it seem like it'd be really great, and the theatrical trailer started smelling funny, but I enjoyed it, especially for Prime's scenes.

ROTF had amazing trailers. How unfortunate....
While I love Man of Steel, I will admit the trailers did make the feel seem better than it was

Oh yes. There was also the classic, "This time we show the fire nation that we believe in our beliefs as much as they believe in theirs."

I'm surprised that didn't show up in the trailers.

Spider-Man 3 had one awesome Comic-Con trailer (unfinished), especially the Venom scene at the end, along with the music pumped up the excitement:

Spider-Man 3 Comic Con Trailer Edit (IN HD) - YouTube

While I did enjoy aspects of the movie, the trailers definitely outshined the movie. I still enjoy watching the trailers to this day. I really enjoy listening to trailer music on YouTube.

I'm going old school on this one -

Armageddon - I was 16 when it came out, and once you saw the trailer ( the one with the 2 shuttle launches) you could figure everything out. Plus they had a few different trailers, the one I remember the most is the 15 second teaser about how dangerous it was to send up 1 shuttle, and something must be bad if we need to send up 2 at the same time.

While I love The Dark Knight Rises, the trailers were significantly better.

Even though I place Man of Steel as my 2nd greateat comic book movie ever, I can admit the trailers promised a little more.

Green Lantern. Well in relations to the trailer, it was pretty close and it had its good pieces but it does fall.

The Avengers. WTF?! I've never been so disappointed in a movie this badly.

Iron Man. Where's my serious take on the Mandarin? Damn trailers!

Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Only because I expected more scenes on dialog and themes. Still love the movie though.
