It's been 6 years since Combiner Wars was the main Transformers line, and it's combining scheme is still in use today. While they serve their purpose as modern day combiners with updated engineering in the affordable range, they are not without their problems.

Most of the combiners lack posability and pleasing looks., with the Menasor version being argueably the worst one.

When Hasbro redoes the combiners, should they take notes from current masterpiece pants formers, and when should they be released ?

    Transformers 2050 Combiner System
    4 Deluxe Limb Bots
    1 Leader Chest Bot
    1 Leader Universal Structure Bot

The limbs combine with new ports
The center bot is the new leader, aka, voyager with extra parts. The extra parts being the head, abdomine covers, and hip covers.
The universal bot can be used with almost every combiner team, with Devastator being the exception. It is a thick voyager, filling the leader class requirements, and streches out, becoming the skeletal structure for the combiner legs and lower abdomine, to which the extra parts from the chest bot cover, hiding the structure bot.

Long Haul is just a structure bot, but is specifically Long Haul, while the rest are nameless, black brutes.

Yes, they should redo the combiners, and I would hope that it would be in the next five years or so. I want an official Titan-class Superion, Computron, and Volcanicus.

I would say after the WFC part 3

Even though Devastator or PredaKing were great looking figures, I would like to see some versions of the Constructicons and Predacons in scale with the rest of the WFC figures in the future.

Either in the next trilogy or the trilogy after. They don't have to make it a line-wide gimmick, just sprinkle in some Combiner waves among normal stuff. And reuse the CW connection system.

I agree that Combiners should be the new Titans, to match Devastator and Predaking. After Scorponok, Hasbro has done all the main city formers. If they start doing one Titan sized Combiner a year, they'll have another ten years worth of choices before revisiting someone like Metroplex again.

At this point, making the torso bot fit in the voyager budget is inadequate. It truly needs more parts and accessories. Therefore, they should make the torso bots in the leader class pricepoint. The limb bots, for themost part, are fine. With that said, bring them in. Love them!

IMO the gold standard is Metroplex. However long it takes for him to swing around again is how long other big ticket items need to wait. He was the first, so for however long he's good enough for Hasbro is a decent waiting period, I think.

    I'd much prefer this.
And make new ones too, like Volcanicus and Orthia.

I want Commander class figures with updated articulation. Torso forms a Voyager sized robot. Limbs have shells of the team members superdeformed to match animation models.

The main robot forms a base or vehicle with the Voyager team leader detached.

I think the limbs should split at the middle and "weaponize" the combiner. Top half above the elbow and bottom below the elbow in arm configuration. Top above the bootcut and bottom below in foot articulation.

On the Superion frame, both halves attach to the rear of the boot.

On the Menasor/Computron configuration, top goes in front and bottom goes in rear on the feet.

I favor a single, solid commander figure aside from the torso that functions as the whole thing and has an alt mode the Voyager team leader can ride in or man. The shell units on the arms and legs can be replaced with deluxes that split in two.

Much more like MM commanders but once you remove the Voyager torso and the limb armor, you have a one piece figure with integrated articulation.

if they re-did the combiners, there needs to be more unique base molds, a lot of characters looks were sacrificed because it was easier to reuse and modify, dead end/air raid/Hot Spot/Hun-Gurr molds

I know it helped cut costs but I still have issues with the Seacons.

When? Oh, Tuesday should be good...

As someone who was not collecting during Combiner wars, a new lot would be fine. But I would want them to be properly individual moulds, not the same thing repeated within each team and also between the teams. That just sucks. I also don't want them as big as Devastator and Predaking were done. Happy to have them done as the line's titan release slot, not happy to have them be so big. Stick to deluxes and voyagers, please. Also see no need for a sixth member (except for the Constructicons who have always been six).

Until Hasbro can come up with an idea besides "rehash 84-86", They shouldn't.

With rising labor and oil/plastic costs the next batch of Combiners want be as impressive as the ones we have now.

If we get combiners that haven't had modern updates, like Dinoking, Landcross, and G2 Defensor, I won't mind. But combiner wars wasn't that long ago. And I'd rather Hasbro's efforts go towards updating characters we haven't gotten yet before they double back and repeat themselves again.

    Anytime.

My issue with the Combiners were the sizes.
    Devestator was perfect.
    Predaking was too large.
Menasor was too large considering his limbs were all cars and I'd prefer Dead End and Motormaster's heads were based on the G1 toy rather than the hideous animation model.

    Superion was too small.
    Volcanicus was too small.
    Abominus was too small.
    Defensor was too small.
    Bruticus was too small.
    Starscream was too small.
As for Computron, just give us the Takara version where he didnt have a faceplate and Nosecone and Strafe looked a lot better.
Give Thundermayhem a retail release. Same with the grey Galvatron that combined with Prime Brakedown.

Voyager limbs for most of them apart from Menasor and Predaking.

Same Combiner ports to mix and match with the Combiner Wars line since some people will still like them.

Oh and if we're getting chestplates again could we get a Blackjack that looks like Blackjack.

I’d generally be happy with what we already have if they would just make all of the joints strong enough to do their jobs and allow some dynamic posing.
