Hi! I am trying to do some money management, so I am wondering (roughly) when TR Trypticon MIGHT come out. I know no one knows exactly when.

Pretty sure he's gonna be part of Power of the Primes, I expect each part of the Prime Wars trilogy to only last a year, and we only get one Titan class figure per year, so...

...Probably this.

 

It will come out a year from whenever it was that Max came out.

July or August. That's when Metroplex came out, it's when Devastator came out, and it's when Fort Max came out.

I hope Hasbro/Takara does a BW Gigastorm remold as well, but it doesn't seem likely, as we never got the Metrotitan repaint from Metroplex or a Grand Maximus or RID Brave Maximus from Fortress Maximus.

I don't understand why people keep thinking this. Combiner wars has already gone for over a year and a half and there is every sign that it will continue into 2017. Titan returns will continue threw out 2017 and may continue into 2018. There is nothing that says one or more of this line can't be going at the same time. (like combiner wars and titan returns did this year) we could very well have combiner wars, titan returns and power of the Prime's on shelf space all at the same time.

While I'm sure trypticon will be the sdcc exclusive next year the question remains will Hasbro issue the general release at the same time, as they have done in the past, or will they wait and release it closers to xmas.

 

Next summer. Toy Fair is February 18-21 and that's when I expect it to be unveiled.

Let's build a timeline. Feel free to give more exact dates to it. These are my guesses...

Summer 2016: TR Wave 1 is released.
Fall 2016: TR: TR Wave 2 is released.
Winter 2016-2017: TR Wave 3 is released.
February 18-21: Toy Fair - TR Wave 5 and 6 are previewed plus Trypticon?
Spring 2017: TR Wave 4 released.
Summer 2017: TR Wave 5 + Trypticon released!
July 20-23: Comic-Con - TR Waves 7 is previewed.
Sept 8-10: Has-Con - Prime Wars Part 3 has big debut preview!
Fall 2017: TR Wave 6 released.
Winter 2017-2018: TR Wave 7 (final?) released.
Spring 2018: Prime Wars Wave 1 released.

At what US conventions were TR Waves 1, 2 and 3 shown?

 

You probably have one too many TR waves - CW was 6 and I think we're on a more or less 18 month calendar for sublines. I'd expect PW3 to come out next Christmas

 

Hasbro toy lines have 18 months of shelflife.

 

I'd say around mid July or early August. If not then I'd say fall time.
