Personally I do not want to see a BB2 movie. The standalone BB was a good move, from the bayverse films that had gotten very stale (imo).

A smaller release (even straight to dvd) Cybertronian film would be great for us fans, easier and cheaper for Paramount and keeping interest, while they work on the next film. The likelehood would not be for 2yrs for the next full TF film.

I also feel that the next TF film Paramount release is 'do or die' - if it flops, I can see them putting the TF big screen on hold. I hope not, as I really enjoyed BB and felt it was the 'breath of fresh air' the big screen franchise needed at this time.

Unpopular opinion here, part of me kinda wishes it would end there and there.

I think its safe to assume that we won't get any major movie news until 2020, as I think it's pretty clear that Paramount still has absolutely no idea what to do with the Transformers franchise at the moment... for some reason.

Here are several reasons why I think there will be no Bumblebee 2:

    1. Paramount seems to focusing on other Hasbro projects, Spice Girls animation and this Atlas Paramount Pictures Will Produce a Series of Atlas Comic Book Movies with Akiva Goldsman Leading The Writers Room

    2. No official confirmations that Bumblebee team will return nor the development yet.

    3. By the time Bumblebee 2 will hit theaters (maybe in the next 4 or 5 years), the hype will already be gone.

What kind of presence is Hasbro going to have at Comic-Con next month (if any)? I don't really expect any news about the next movie specifically, but I could see them dropping some hints about the future of the series. I could see them clarifying the reboot/prequel situation.

Haven't heard much (regarding Transformers) from the usual people I keep contact with. Paramount has way too much to chew at the moment. Regarding Hasbro-side of the contract, it is due to expire in 2022 by which time Snake Eyes and Micronauts are slated to come out. No word yet on Bumblebee 2 although that was in their plate and even had an initial director search. We'll wait and see. I'll definitely be updating here if I hear something. :)

Well I guess after the Lorenzo incidents, they rather stay silent.

(Hasbro after what Lorenzo said lol)

Next years will feel weird, knowing that there will be no TF movies since their fate is now uncertain.

I wonder what will happen to this board in those years of absence

I feel good about them taking their time, not rushing into anything. I think it's a very good thing. Maybe it will be a bit boring for us for a while, but, hey at least there won't be as much bickering among us for once.

Nothing will happen to the boards there’s still going to be lots of news to report on. Lately it’s just been quiet.

I don’t think they will mention the reboot prequel situation again. They don’t say it’s a reboot but they quietly hint that it is with the “it’s set in a new story telling universe!” Plus people are still in denial about it and the general public thinks it’s a prequel. I don’t think they’ll mention it again and just say the next movie is a sequel to Bumblebee.

There will probably be more threads about this question and that would probably be it along with repetitive stuff like what's your favorite Camaro or whatever.

You're a fairly new user, but it's like this pretty much every time between movies. There's still movies planned to be made, news will eventually come out, and in the meantime the boards (of which there are sections concerned with parts of Transformers other than the movies) will somehow keep going.

I mean, at the very least, these boards were around for years before the movies even existed.

    Same as it ever was.

Veterans knows it the best. :)

Though quiet, things will always be happening in the background. Meanwhile, even us staffers will continue on our healthy relationships with Hasbro/Paramount. Eventually there will be a day when things are ready for the go. Announcements will slowly come out and then explode. There will be new faces here, new staffers even. Hiatus periods are always exciting. Transformers franchise never dies out... it merely transforms.

The question is whether there will even be another bumblebee movie and whether they will release a big transformers movie first or a bumblebee movie first
