What's wrong with Optimus? But I'll admit, if Ironhide had more screen time and character development then he would be number 1!!

As for those talking about Optimus and whether he's a good character;

I remember a one-off comment by Hasbro during an interview where someone stated that the films 'Will always be Optimus Vs Megatron as that is what fans want to see, the dynamic will always change however it will always be Autobots Vs Decepticons, Optimus Vs Megatron' - its one of the reason we've had Megatron for 3 films now and one of the reasons I'm still believing Galvatron will be linked to Megatron.

That's why I personally dislike his characterisation in the movies - their is no tension and no question as to whether Optimus will win as the films will always bring him back as he and Bumblebee are their main lead stars in the marketing. Sure Megatron can kill him and Lockdown can shoot a hole through his chest - but it wont stop him and that's why the film version of Optimus is badly characterised compared to any other adaption because they rely on Optimus for too much - so we know he'll always come back as long as a sequel is confirmed.

 

I'll go Prime for look. If all the designs were such a nice mix of old and new I'd be okay with the film look.

Laserbeak for showing the Decepticons as actively evil.

Blackout for the right tone with the film's first transformation.

That's about as far as my list goes.

 

I understand that.

I would love it if Optimus is hopeless in this film and Grimlock gets the winning kill! Maybe like this;
-Lockdown has Optimus defenceless and about to kill him
-Grimlock charges at him, and Lockdown starts shooting at him
-While still charging Grimlock transforms and swings his mace at lockdown
-They fight
-Grimlock wins and pins him down with his massive foot
-Lockdown "you can't defeat me... You're just a mindless beast!"
-Grimlock "me Grimlock no mindless beast... Me Grimlock king!!!"
- Grimlock crushes lockdowns head.

Something like that would be different and awesome!

It would add to Grimlock's character and he gets a awesome kill

I don't have a Top 10 list but my 2 favorite are Ironhide and Brawl (because of all his guns  ).

 

Yeah, they're underrated because they're in ROTF (which I like).
Ravage was awesome, his design was awesome and I wanted more!
With Skids, he was refreshing, and he was the smarter twin that puts his brother in place! He actually shown emotion when he thought Mudflap died... Which transformers hardly do in these films! Sucks the twins weren't in DOTM!
