I've noticed figure hands are a very controversial topic when it comes to transformers and I've never really understood why.

What kind of hands do you all prefer and why?

MP-36's hands are perfect. MP-44's might be even better.

Thumb movement, separately articulated index finger that can point, three other fingers articulated together. Solid enough without being fiddly, expressive enough without being a chore to pose just right.

MP-39 and MP-47's hands look just about perfect for a smaller size. Wrist pivot, articulated fingers together and articulated thumb, and in Hound's case a separately articulated index finger.

I absolutely loathe peg hole hands. My biggest peeve with MP-21 by far.

I hate multiple hands. Just a waste of a Ziploc bag.

    If it’s Legends, I’m fine with a peg-hole.

If it’s MP, give me articulation.

T-30 Brainstorm had a really good hand design. They were slightly open but still had peg holes. I prefer that to the boxy style with the 5mm hole.

I'm perfectly fine with peg hole hands. As long as they look like hands and not the insides of car doors or something with unintelligible finger detail.

An MP better have at least semi-articulated hands (fully articulated would be nice as long as they can still grip stuff). But, I'm fine with peg-hole hands for run-of-the-mill figures. Extra hands might be OK in those rare instances where they make sense, i.e., where multiple hand types are appropriate for performing different tasks/poses the character is known for that couldn't be accomplished with just one hand design.

I really don't care for Transformers. If Scorponok can just have claws for hands, I'm just as willing to believe some have fist-shaped bricks for hands that have holes through them.

Peg holes in fists just means two extra 5mm ports for fan modes... unless you're universe cyclous, then it's only one extra 5mm port for some reason.

All sword-wielding mainline figures should have Reveal the Shield Laser Optimus's combination ball joint + forward/back hinge hands. Not being able to point a sword makes it look incredibly stiff and bad. Maybe extend that to any figure that has a melee weapon, now that I'm thinking about it.

Also, despite the improvements in articulation that came with changing the style, I vastly prefer the look of the blocky fists of the toy-accurate series of MP figures to the noodle-fingers of the current set of toon-accurate figures.

So I guess if I were to pick one from the list, I'd go with semi-articulated for the blend of visual appeal and poseability.

Peg hole hands for mainline Transformers. If it's Masterpiece or 3P, I prefer articulated hands, since it offers more pose options and gives the figure a little more life.

For figures up to leader class size I'm fine with peghole hands if chug and semi articulated hands if MP. For bigger bots I really appreciate fully articulated hands.

As long as the figure can hold his weapon I'm good.

Since I only get main line figures I want peghole hands. Other hands always cause problems and if the hole is too small I can easily drill it out.

Oh, and nothing to STOP anything from going fully into said hand. I should be able to have any figure hold a sword
