Hasbro offered us 7 Scramble City combiners. These figures may have lacked some of the complexity and uniqueness of the amazing and intricate Devastator set and they lacked some of the panache of the huge Predaking set... but the Scramble City sets are spectacular nonetheless.

They each had tons of visual appeal and each offered unique and consistent theme, making them very cool sets to have in your collection.

Let us know with a vote which is your favorite overall set (as a whole) and let us know in your post which set you believe had the strongest components, best theme, etc if different from your vote.

I have to go with Bruticus! Space shuttle, tank, jeep, helicoper, and a transport! What more could you ask for?

Bruticus. Great military theme (with a shuttle thrown in) and all around great looking combined mode.

I'm going to go with Superion. Fairly uniform color scheme, so he looks like one robot. Plus, his color scheme isn't garish (I'm talking to you Abominus and Seacons!). He offers air-superiority, which is tactically useful. His members can easily stick together as a team (how often is a jeep going to be alongside a space shuttle? or a drill with a spacefighter?).

Wow.... Bruit-Cake is out to an early lead! :D

I love them all but I voted for Menasor...yeah, weak robot modes for the limbs but otherwise, aces all around. Great color scheme, cool concept, near weapons and Motormaster is just too cool for school.

Bruticus. Great set of varying, military based alt modes.

That's the great thing about Scramble City. Beyond the core-bot, you don't have to!

I really like Bruity-Bruit... but I have to say that I'm surprised by the overwhelming popularity.

    No love for Superion?!

Was "Juicy Bruit" the first Scramble City guy or was Superion? I can't remember which was first...

Superion was the first designed, it's apparent in the design flaws that he has. (Spindly legs, all limbs having the same transformation) but he's quite the marvel to look at.

My vote goes to Computron. He's the most solidly built (It is nigh impossible to break him or his components, whereas it's pretty easy to do with Superion and I've seen a fair share of broken Bruticuses) very good size (not too short) and bulk (not too thin) to him, good proportions and excellent individual robots. He's also well balanced and doesn't lean like most Scramble City combiners. He also doesn't have floppy limbs. Every other Scramble City combiner has one or more of these problems from my experience with them.

Great info and some good observations there.

I had Scattershot as a kid and at the time, I felt that he was a cool enough figure on his own to never feel compelled to go after all of the limbs...but they are each pretty darned cool. After your description, I'm thinking maybe I should reconsider finding his parts. :)

My favorite is Computron, but I have to argue that Defensor is the best as far as overall construction and thematic representation.

Hey, I was for Superion...although the fact that everyone seems to be against us makes me think we'll never land jobs in Hasbro's marketing and development division...

I kinda agree here...it's a terrific mold but since the tooling apparently survived out of the G1 era, we were treated to more recent releases of this figure...

...Piranacon tooling obviously survived as well but the over-exposure hasn't been as bad since they're weird figures. :)

    True! :D
