I feel like this is a decent idea however RID's original designs were part of how good it is. What are you guy's opinions? Do you want more G1 inspired characters?

 

I agree the original designs and scarcity of G1 clones is a big part of what i like about NuRID.
But at the same time i'm kind of hyped about characters like Cyclonus, Bludgeon and Doublecross getting clones in another comic or cartoon for a change instead of the usual Starscream, Optimus etc.
If they are going to put G1 clones into a new cartoon i'd much rather they be guys like Doublecross than guys like Bumblebee.

 

i like it, g1 isnt as referenced these days and its good to get back to classic stuff, i mean, who didnt love starscreams RID look

 

Undecided. It makes sense for fan favorites to show up, as they've been present since the beginning, but the show's style doesn't suit most of them IMPO and in this case I prefer the new characters more then most of the old timers.

 

I liked Starscream and Soundwave showing up but that had nothing to do with G1. I just like the sense of continuity.

 

I really hate it. Right when Rescue Bots, and its original characters seemingly come to an end, RID15 decides to stop using original characters. Hasbro has systematically eliminated all hints of originality in the franchise. Now we're left with G1 comics, G1 Generations, G1 Machinema shows, a now G1 oriented mainline show, and G1 MP, with a tiny hint of BW. I can't believe that the upcoming movies are the only hope I have left for there being something interesting in the franchise.

 

Not too sure about it actually. On one hand it's cool to see some new takes on G1 designs but at the same time it does take away what makes both TFP and RID15 unique and different in their own right. That said seeing characters like Bludegeon,Twinferno and Cyclonus make major appearances in RId15 makes me excited.

I find it mildly annoying, but ultimately Grimlock is a G1 character that feels nothing like he did in G1, so I'm hopeful that even if the names and alt-mode are old the character will still have his own life. I mean Cyclonus has never been a rogue mind-controlling wizard but that's what they're doing with him, no reason to believe the other homages won't be new takes either.

 

It is for anyone who wants innovations, and creativity, rather than repeating the same boring thing over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over again.

 

I hope the reason why they're starting to bring in G1 elements isn't because of the backlash people have had with RID15 having animal based TFs and other things like that. I don't want to see the series lose what makes it stand out among the other TF series. If they can have a good balance to please both sides I'll be fine with it.
