I'll also second Metal Slug. Super kickass, and she (my personal preference)'s going to stay on desk rotation for a long time!

That's a hard question so many good figures.
    MS Light of Peace
    MMC Optus Prominon
    Newage Firefox
    MS Spock
Would probably be my top choices for the year so far.

    1) UT's Desperado / DotM Megatron: The best representation of the character so far, no backpack or kibble in robot mode and the alt-mode looks fantastic with some minor kibble on the top of the tanker... Either way, no other company can compete against UT in making 3P transforming figures.

    2) CangToys Thorilla / Predaking Lower Torso: this thing is a game changer in the +55 cm combiner height technology. And people believed that pantsforming was the only way to achieve a stable combiner at that scale lol.

3?) I was tempted to say XTB Commander Stack... But it seems to be plague with problems, so unfortunate... Besides he lost his hips ratchets and that's a big turn off for me.

Honestly a lot of 3p this year has been really lame for me or just not what I am looking for in a toy. I’ve bought less than previous years and the best ones I got originally released well before 2022. No real 3p knockout figures this year it seems.

Magic Square Devastator for sure. What a beast!

He’s a great representation of the cartoon design and the engineering is delightful. Individual robot modes are sooooo good too!

    1. Monocrat Megatank - Just something absolutely special to look at and a unique take on the character that you can’t get from anyone else. Commands your eye due to its size and the weathered paint.

    2. MMC Medicus - Top notch rendition of a character I’ve always had a soft spot for that looks and works fantastically in all modes.

    3. XTB Janssen - Not a higher quality figure than Tesla 2.0 but a better Perceptor. Looks great and the insane amount of accessories edges it into this spot. And at a relatively low price.

Janssen was good but he kinda had some annoying issues

I gotta say newage ex grimlock or there Skyfire or even there ex tyr

I’m sure speedster I had him last year???
The only decent fanstoys was soundwave really loved how they went all out with the toy deco really appreciate that on the flip side I think the alt mode was awful I know it’s soundwave and I know it’s hard but his alt was really lacking

I would have said chomp to but 1 face????? Not even an extra face was really disappointing

I forgot about medicus who was pretty solid to

Wasn't Acoustic Wave a late 2021 figure? If not he'd be my undisputed numer one..

    XTB Dante and Da Vinci.
All three solid figures with fun transformations and great designs and looks.

I got so many great figures this year...But the one that gives me the most joy is probably MS Devastator.

I simply don't have room for a MP-scale combiners, but this one still fits in with my Mp figures. My only gripe is the colour. So I went ahead and ordered the Newage version.

I’m gonna count all of MS’ releases this year as one chunk: Optimus, Devastator, Jazz, Hound, Ironhide, Ratchet, Mirage, Shockwave redeco. Engineering on all is fantastic. Some mold flashing on some, a couple loose joints, but all in all no real disappointments.

MMC Medicus: really love this guy. Engineering and QC are top notch, just wish his shoulders locked in.

XTB Ultra Magnus: don’t have him yet, but MAN that transformation looks brilliant. Aesthetics too are superior. Really looking forward to messing with him.

I swear @Honesty and I are not the same person, but we agree on A LOT. I haven't snagged a PX Grimlock yet, but also the lack of new Reformatted molds has greatly slowed my 3P purchasing this year. In fact, the only 3P figures I've gotten this year so far are the DJD re-issues. It's been a Gundam-heavy year for me instead.

Like I said last year when this was posted too early...this was posted too early (so far or not).

Also like I said last year, see you in January.

This isn't the annual end of year poll, just someone wondering.

Newage Skyfire might be my favourite at the moment. Monocrat Megatank definitely had the spot for the first half of the year but Skyfire feels special.

It's been a great year for releases with a lot of quality figures that could be considered figure of the year. The standouts for me (based on figures I purchased/own) are:

    1. RP-01 Acoustic Wave - Sculpt and paint are fantastic. The thing that really sets this guy apart for me is the accessories that let you customize the look between Toy and Toon version or a blend if you prefer.
    2. Newage Cyclonus - The paint, sculpt, and engineering are all fantastic. Fun to transform and fiddle with.
    3. Newage David (comic/metallic version) - this final evolution of the Optimus mold finally hits on all the articulation points with the addition of a butterfly shoulder and double elbow. Fun to transform and pose. However, the paint apps on all versions of David are stellar.
    Runner-ups
    • Newage Firefox - great figure, easy transformation, accurate sculpt. I wish it had more paint. I have a feeling the EXR version will be amazing.
    • Newage Arcee - It's amazing how a small figure gives the best sculpt and engineering for this character that other companies couldn't do at MP scale.
    • Newage Ymir Ex - Gimlock is relatively easy to engineer and transformations are pretty standard across all versions. The paint and decals are fanatastic. The only thing holding this guy back is his neck gap.
    • FT Rig - fun little guy, probably the best FT transformation so far of the characters I have from FT.

Wow! I don't think I"ve heard that from anyone before. In fact, the transformation is what is keeping me from pulling the trigger. I'm waiting to see other reviewers. I'm more of a simpleton when it comes to transformation i guess! :)

I think mine were Metallic painted Eligos from X-Transbots (raised the figure up to perfection) and Janssen as an upgraded Perceptor in my display.
