I finally found ROTF Superion today and upon playing with it have come to find out that Silverbolt's knees seem to have been molded or installed incorrectly. His knee joins allow his lower legs to be bent forward in an unrealistic fashion, but not backwards at all. Is this a problem with this particular mold or was the figure I bought just not put together properly?
Yeah, this is a problem that apparently dates back to its Energon mold as well. Mine is the same way, an according to the thread for this set on the Feedback forum, it's common for most of the Silverbolts. You could probably sort through the boxes and find one that's assembled correctly, but I wouldn't know how to look for such a thing. There's also a simple fix to it as well, but I'm not quite sure what it is, as the hinge on Silverbolt can't exactly be unscrewed.
It's disappointing to hear that this is that common an issue. How could Hasbro let a problem this major go through QC? I'll try my luck tomorrow and pick up another set and hope that his knees are assembled correctly. If it turns out to be the same, I'd be out of ideas. I tried searching for a fix, but couldn't find anything.
I know, but Silverbolt is my favorite. It's why I'm buying a Superion. I'll just stick to my Ultra class Silvy.
Fixing Stormjet/Silverbolt is pretty easy! Step 1. Unscrew and remove the two lower-leg halves from each leg and set them aside. Remember their orientation. Step 2. Unscrew and remove the back covers from the black upper-leg/thigh pieces Step 3. Remove what's left of the lower leg from within the black thigh pieces and switch them, make sure the knee piece bends in the right direction. Step 4. Replace the black thigh covers. Careful with replacing these, each thigh cover is fastened by two screws and they ARE different sizes. The big one goes in the top hole. Step 5. Replace the lower leg covers, make sure you put them on the right way so that the triangular knee gaurd is in the front (not conflicting with the knee joint anymore). Enjoy
theyre not glued, the pin is just tight. twiddle it a bit as you pull and u shud b ok, mine was like that
Has anyone seen Bruticus? I can't find him in my local Target. I'll try the next one over I guess later this week.
I missed the set of small screws that are holding the two halves of the lower legs together. >_< Now I need to go out and buy a super small screwdriver.
I'm pretty sure that Bruticus isn't supposed to be out for a few more weeks. I could be wrong, though...
so......you just tried to pul it appart right off the bat? and it didnt occur to you that the holes in the leg were screw holes? -_-
