Ive never really watched Armada except for a few episodes, and was wondering why do my firends compare him to dinobot?? what happens to him in the show that would make someone compare him to dinobot, and is it at all really interesting???? Also are the armada starscream, skywarp, thundercracker toys worth buying???
He betrays Megatron and joins the Autobots for a short while, and befriends Alexis. Alexis seems to be very fond of him, moreso than the other kids seem to. Also, Starscream seems to be torn between his loyalty to the Decepticons and his hatred and disdain for Megatron. Later on, after a sword fight with Galvatron, he lets Galvatron defeat him. He does this so Galvatron will understand how big a threat Unicron really is and how deeply he believes it himself. He's then destroyed by Unicron immediately after. I dunno how that makes him similar to Dinobot. Maybe it's the fact that he sacrifices himself for the greater good. Pity it didn't really make a difference.
I think it's the side switching more than the death thats comparable. *Edit: as for the toys, they're decent molds by the Armada-era standards but nothing like what was in Energon and out now in Cybertron. I'd start with Starscream if you can find it for cheap and branch out from there if you like what you get.*
I'd say it made a huge difference. Galvtron refused to beleive that Unicron was a threat until Starscream (who was sort of the Harry to his Norman Osbourne) died from that blast by Unicron. After that Galvatron allied with Prime.
I see the similarities, but dinobot was about honor and starscream is ALLWAYS about what is just best for himself.
That video is awesome, and sums it up very well. This Starscream, Rumble02, isn't like the other Starscreams. He initially resents Megatron, leading to an attempt at rebellion, but he comes to admire him. But toward the end, when Megatron becomes more and more obsessed with power, Starscream sees how his commander is losing his way, and joins the Autobots to try to find a way of stopping him. The final duel between the two is the last part of the drama, right before his death, Starscream admits he always looked up to Megatron, but could not stand by while he led the Decepticons to oblivion. He was a true Decepticon at his core, but he was not so blind to his cause to merely follow Megatron. Realising that Megatron, under advice of Thrust, would lead the Decepticons to ruin, Starscream did what he did, swapping sides and aiding the Autobots, to ultimately try to preserve the Decepticons.
To my mind, Starscream's sacrifice pretty much marks the point in the Armada cartoon where it became truly enjoyable viewing. From then on, the series is great.
Yes , Armada Starscream, Skywarp & tcracker (And Universe Ramjet) are worth it. Fun toys with solid jet modes and they look impressive when grouped.
