I'll start: I'm going to do the worst comic.
Transformers: The Beast Within.

Any of y'all who know that one should know why I put it here.
I won't even start on how bad it is.

 

The Beast isn't all that bad and treating it like blasphemy of some sort by default is memetic crowd think.

 

It's actually ok, but the design...eeewww.

 

It's the head. It's always the head. Too stretchy and organic. If that design had a Volcanicus head itd be just fine.

Same problem with BM Maximals and certain Bayverse Transformers. The heads are just cringe.

 

The Beast is good at pointing out how dumb it is to depict the Dinobots as a massively overpowered group who can take on all of the Decepticons on their own and then some.
And that's also what makes it so bad.

 

I think their Marvel G1/Pre Movie Sunbow depiction was best. A true force to be reckoned with but not unreasonably so.

 

I agree they were best in Marvel.
Pre movie they were still plenty overpowered in Sunbow, wiping the floor with the entire Decepticon army (sans combiners) several times on their own. Then again, the entire Decepticon army sans combiners was about equal in numbers to the Dinobots at that time. So that's not unreasonable I guess.
They weren't able to take on combiners in Sunbow. So that was good, showing that they did have their limits.

I feel FOC Bruticus and its mold mate the Wreckers is one of the worst combiners made.





I'll focuse on Ruination, since I own him, although pretty much everything I say applies to Bruticus.

Thanks to all five robots being Deluxe-class, he's all out of proportion and has balance issues. The individual robots feel unfinished, particularly Impactor and Roadbuster. Whirl is kinda decent, but Twin Twist has serious balance issues. And together, they're about the sum of their parts, which isn't much overall.

 

I actually have a lot of nostalgia for this guy, because I was immensely psyched for the G2 version, which I got as a surprise Christmas present.

...and then I traded it with someone on this board(!) for a RTS Perceptor and a Universe 2.0 Lio Prime (the white one) and made my mom temporarily really upset. I still feel kinda bad!

I at least still have the box, which I maintain is the best part about that specific version of the toy, in hindsight.

 

The worst thing ever in transformers..... Siege Optimus' window boob job.

They make the new comics almost unreadable when he is in it.

 

Cancelling Animated and then binning its fourth season was one of the worst decisions Hasbro has made with regards to their TV shows.

The worst decision made in recent years with regard to toys was to make the non-Studio Series Generations line solely focused on G1, with no meaningful presence from other continuities.

 

C'mon...RID Bruticus is a really fun toy...he said without (much) conviction...It has a certain sense of Beast Machines holdover aesthetics that I really love...but I'm not sure where they were going with it. What's the opening chest panel for? A 'BM power of the spark' feature that went unfinished?

Silverbolt on the other hand... Absolute rubbish.

Wasn't that Cartoon Network? It didn't get the viewership they expected?

 

No, it was a mix of factors. Hasbro wanted to start The Hub, Cartoon Network was already shoving action cartoons into worse time slots, Animated toys were late to shelves because stores kept ordering Movie product, plus Revenge of the Fallen came out pretty much right as Animated got cancelled.

We may never know the full story.

I'mma gonna say this here: RID15 is the worst piece of Aligned continuity media.

Over all shows? Energon, without a doubt.

 

Comic: Heart of Darkness. Ugh. Ew.
Toy: Armada Smokescreen. I feel like it makes Hot Shot and Sideswipe look good in comparison.
Cartoon: Energon.
Concept: Gun Megatron
Fiction: Bayverse (while I enjoyed the movies and thought they were fun, holy crap that's some shitty fiction)
