I'd say Long Haul gear grinding is also more of a design issue.

Is this just for 3rd party figures?...Like you, I haven't had much, if any major issues...worse thing, is my Hasbro TFA Voyager Optimus waist would NEVER lock into place...

I think the worst QC experience for me was when I bought one of the first run Mastermind Creations Cyclops. I was naive back then and I thought at that price it would be perfect. So I spent forever transforming it while watching Peaugh's review, constantly pausing and rewinding. And when I finally finished it was floppy elbow time. Then I start digging around the forum to see if it was normal, and it wasn't. I would have to contact the retailer for a replacement part that would arrive at some mystery date. Not only that, he had squeaky defective hips too. I couldn't get rid of that thing fast enough.

    - loose shoulder, elbow, hip and knee joints
    - arms pop off every time you transform him
    - unable to hold guns firmly, often they will fall out of his hands

    Xovergen Trailerforce (black version)

    - loose and weak elbow, wrist, toe, ankle, hip and neck joints
His ability to stand and pose is so limited he constantly wants to fall down and can't even hold his guns up

Basically both figures turned out to be useless cheap, awful garbage and I completely regret buying either.

I had a similar experience with the regular version of Trailerforce. Though yours seem to be worse.

    non transformer 3rd party

    Bandai Macross frontier VF-171 CF
The black NUNS piece that holds the shoulder pieces on crumbles, cracks and basically falls apart.

    down the rabbit hole reading
DX Chogokin VF-171 Cannon Fodder - Toys - Macross World Forums

The issue has never been acknowledged by Bandai. Buyers had to return the toy at their own expense, wait several weeks, and the replacement that arrives has the same problem.

Hasbro product wise, 8/10 figures i buy have some form of qc issue. Floppy stuff, loose joints. A few have been serious, but most fixable.

Third party wise, biggest issue I've run into was TFC's Blackbird. First one i bought has no fists, sent it back and and the replacement had a bunch of broken bits. The tip of the nose cone was missing, one of the pegs that attaches his right wing to the engine section was missing, so it won't fold without falling off, and the screw that holds one of the legs together was inserted crooked so it cracked the plastic. Overall it doesn't affect it display wise, with the exception of the wing, but it's still annoying.

MP Lambor and three copies later of horrible paint jobs (never got a perfect one). So far I've been very lucky with third party, all of the QC issues I've run into are from Hasbro/Takara.

    Impossible Toys Medic:

At the time, I was still confident Hasbro would eventually get around to a proper classics styled G1 Arcee. But I at least wanted to check out what Impossible Toys Valkyrie mold had to offer, so I pre-ordered Medic. ...without even taking the toy out of the package, I could tell it was hot garbage. The plastic at the back of the car mode, what would be her robot mode thighs -- was literally splitting at the seams. On top of that, all the turquoise paint apps on the front of the car had been applied so thinly, you could clearly see the white plastic underneath.

I don't think that toy resided in my home for a full 24 hours before it was back in the mail, on its way to BBTS for a refund.

TFC Blackbird---the post holes on his chest are too small for the posts on the first chest piece (the small, transforming plane that comes with Blackbird), so it won't fit on his chest.

G1 Menasor knock-off---I previously had purchased a G1 knock-off Defensor and was impressed with it, so I bought the Menasor. As I went to plug in Wild Rider into the leg, his head snapped right off and I had barely applied any pressure at all. I couldn't believe it.

Hasbro Animated Ratchet---the head is supposed to spring out when you transform him into bot mode, but the spring is defective and the head won't pop out; you have to force it out with a screwdriver.

MP-04, his left leg was screwed so tightly I couldn't even transform him, I had to unscrew it slightly to do so!

Their trailerforce mold is quite old now and they simply cheaped out with the redeco by not improving it. While this could mean their gb might also have some problems it might simply end up with better qc.
