    Title says it all.

Personally, I've found that the French are the masters of overpricing TFs.

Movie Deluxe at 52 dollars? No problem!

(As a comparison, the Encore Ironhide and Ratchet reissues cost 39 dollars ON THE SAME FREAKIN' SITE.)

Just in terms of brick and mortar retail, either MP Thundercracker in a Forbidden Planet for £180 or generally scouts for £8 and voyagers for £22.

$52 for a movie deluxe is worse than here even.

Though... here's what I've seen in local stores

    $250 for ROTF Supreme Devastator
    $110 for movie leaders
$62 for your average movie voyager

That's actually justified, given that they are exclusives.

.....Wait, someone made a Nightbird TF?

I have seen many a ridiculously over-priced Transformer, in many different places such as ebay and Amazon.co.uk. I assume that people have say an Armada Sideswipe in their possesion, see what high end G1 figures go for on ebay during a single search and automatically assume that their piece of crap must be worth the same amount.

I have seen Energon Rodimus & Ironhide on Amazon.co.uk priced at £130 each, plus a robot replica Starscream priced at £176 (no bs).

It also baffles me on ebay why people list a Transformer and stick a £50.00 minimum bid on it, what a waste of money to list it. Spotted a Transformers Book Collection Soundwave on ebay yesterday with a £79.99 starting minimum bid, madness.

Theres a little toy shop at the mall that sells Scout for $13, Deluxe for $20, and anything else for $25

I also saw a junker Space Case for more than a boxed Space Case

When ROTF first came out, a guy at my local flea market was selling a voyager fallen for $80 with a sign on it saying 'rare-only packed one per case'.

If we're talking about recent, mass produced, toys. IIRC, import taxes in Brazil mean that you'll end up paying $50 or $60 or a Deluxe (?)

    Which movie Deluxe was it?

A few European countries got cut short on some ROTF toys.

Perhaps they were just chancing their arm, perhaps it was imported, and shipping to France may not always be cheap.

Also bear in mind, iirc, Deluxes cost about $25 in France anyway.

As rare as they are, the dino-cassettes were over a thousand dollars.

Some of the Botcon stuff fetches crazy prices. I love the look of Darksyde Megatron, but not that much.

I'm honestly not sure how widely available it was in France?

Yeah, in an ideal world Transfans in ever country would have the same access to TFs as American ones, both on price and availability.

    Definitely not the case unfortunately.

Around the time ROTF came out I remember seeing someone asking £250 for an Ultimate Bumblebee from the first BayFormers movie at Play.com.

The "sleep" MP Prime. It's $275 on BBTS' site.

As far as my local stores I'd sat $18 for Deluxes at Rite Aid.

I've been in France, miscreant, and I can tell you that he was very widely available in the stores I was in. (I honestly don't know how they found space for the other stuff.)

I once paid $7 for ROTF Scalpel. Still feel ripped off.
