I think it just goes to show that if you go too far in either direction, you turn into a douchebag.

Hostel is up there, but I think both Martyrs (french) and The Girl Next Door (not the one with Cuthbert) beat it out pretty handily. Both are well made, and I... am glad I watched them, but its hard to say the experience was enjoyable.

If you liked Hostel, definately give those a shot.

    Hmmph.

    You ain't seen nothing yet.

    Session 9
    Antichrist
    August Underground Mordum
    Cronenberg's The Fly
    Audition
    Salo, yes, I agree there.
    Nekromantik
    Happiness
    Tetsuo the Iron Man
The Girl Next Door (not the comedy, the one based on a true story)
    The Brood
Heck, try the Masters of Horror episode "Imprint", too.

Look them up, then try to sleep after seeing them.

I thrive on this transgressive stuff.

I try to avoid disturbing movies. But I'll tell you a disturbing scene in one of my favorite sci-fi franchises. In Terminator 2 Judement Day when Sara Conner and gain are at the desert visiting Sarah's Mexican friends, she starts dreaming. In her dream, she is at a park watching kids play and a nuclear blast hits their city causing the park to burn into ash and Sarah's body burns to a crisp.
That scene horrifies me and every time I watch T2, I have to skip that scene. Rest of the movie was/is kick-ass. Just that one scene really gets to me.

    Antichrist.

Did I want to see that scissor scene? Not even no's to express this.

Did I survive watching it? I think I lost some of my being that day.

This movie is why I can never eat ice cream again, as I was eating that while watching it. -shivers-

    Bloody disturbing.

As a child, Fright Night. That movie disturbed me so much as 5 yr old that I didn't watch another horror movie until I was 10.

Today, Cabin Fever really disturbs me. Movies like that and the Strangers disturb me more than anything supernatural.

No mention of Event horizon yet?

I went to see it at the cinema thinking it was just a sci fi film - I was wrong....

Yeah. I have to agree that Event Horizon did me over.

Especially the shot of the ship when it was in "Hell."

I only watched the commentary of that film by BigAl2k6 from Youtube and already I'm horrified. I can't something like that can still happen here in this day and age. Haven't teared up that much since Grave of the Fireflies.

"Parents" a comedy/horror flick where the parents feed their kids people. Truly scared the hell out of me.

Phenomena or Creepers was real disturbing for me growing up. Though the Iron Maiden music made me buy it on DVD.

I didn't find it to be disturbing, but you definitely feel uncomfortable watching it. I don't know whether it's the way it's filmed. Having said that, quite a few old British films are like it.
