now I'm a strong observer when it comes to picking out tf toys so I check out paint apps and stuff like accessories and accuracy to whatever toyline but there have been times where I buy a tf bcuz of the hype but then the toy suck in terms of either paint apps or detail and poseability and I seriously regret it in the long run but the toyline that's notorious for shafting me is the movie line so I just want you to tell me about your experiences of buying crappy tf toys

 

Mudflap, total suck, there are more but thats all that comes to mind.

Edit: that damn grey jet from movie 1, Dreadwind I think oh my god, what was I thinking.....

 

Just a helpful aside, but you don't have to be afraid of multiple sentences. Periods can be your friends, embrace them!

Anyways, I'd have to say the most dissapointing TF I've ever bought would have to be Movie Incinerator. I've spruced him up with a blackwash and some Reprolabels, but the fact half his alt. mode is just his back and the utter lack of no hands because of the main gimmick is poor toy design. Runner up is Movie Dirge, since his arms have strange limitations on their articulation (one can't come close to the body, the other can't extend all the way to the side).

Edit: I also agree; Dreadwing's toy does suck, I even own the original and the Fearswoop/Hooligan repaint, but both were gifts from relatives and since they were free, I find them decent enough.

Blazemaster. He's not absolutely horrible, but he does kinda suck.

Also, my Animated Ratchet had an issue where his tool would flip out.
I fixed it (sort of), but I was upset about it at first.

 

Movie 1 Payload. all sorts of suck!

 

Animated Soundwave: He looks cool, but he's got a crappy transformation, imo, and is hard has hell to get back to car mode. The panels are hard to line up right.

RotF Mixmaster: I don't even know where to begin with this one....

RotF HA Sideswipe: Has a hiking backpack, hard to get the arms back into the bottom of alt mode, very empty in his chest.

 

ROTF Smokescreen. I don't have a clue as to whether or not thinking was involved in that purchase. He was my first ROTF deluxe, though.

 

I think Armada Hot Shot was my biggest let down since I hadn't been collecting again for very long and I had been blown aay by the awesomeness of RiD. It's grown on me a little bit but overall Armada is STILL a huge step backwards from RiD. But that's an argument for another thread.

RoTF Blazemaster looked really cool in pix but in hand it's garbage. I was also completely uderwhelmed by Animated Lockdown after reading all the positive comments about it. It looked like shit to me from internet pix, I should have gone with my instinct on that one. And Animated Starscream. I only got it because of the McDonald's coupons and even getting a discount I felt ripped off. Total trash.

 

I purchased Bonecrusher to try to at least give the movie figures a fair shot. Transformed him a few times and did other things to try and force myself to like the figure but in the end I tossed him in the trash because he just kept reminding me that I wasted money on a movie figure.

ROTF FAB Ironhide. I basically bought it for the paint scheme. Really bad decision. He's got practically no articulation, his face is half-hidden at all times, his chest is totally hollow, and his scrunched up arms kinda just hang off what's supposed to be his chest. Just a really, really bad figure.

 

I'd have to go with 2007 Voyager Prime or Universe 2.0 Hotshot. I am very dissapointed.
Hot shot has horrible flaws in bot mode, a cheap Minicon that is useless and one of my pins holding one of the windsheilds in popped off. Interesting transformation, still not recommended IMO.

I still have to say the same thing I said last time this topic popped up - Animated deluxe Bumble Bee. I like car mode but robot leaves much to be desired, transform not fun, lack of detail, looks cheap, hand/stinger thing sucks. I am very picky about what I buy so I am rarely disappointed though.

 

No TFU Galvatron yet?

for me, Voyager Blackout. just too small, and broken gimmick.
Also, RiD Landfill, but only because it is a kibbly mess.
