What's the current status of the Wreckers?

Has their been any mention of the group status that I've missed?

I know Magnus, Whirl, Perceptor and a few others have been on MTMTE Quest but has their been any reference to the status of the unit being defunct, on hiatus etc?

It would be amazing to have a flashback book on some past battles, encounters etc.

LSotW ended with Springer comatose, and Kup, Perceptor, and Roadbuster the only active Wreckers. In MTMTE #6 we learn that Whirl attempted to euthanize Springer with a Sparkeater, but was caught and officially booted out of the Wreckers. There was a text story, Zero Point, that ended with Springer showing signs of coming out of his coma. Since Perceptor's on the Lost Light now, and Kup went back to Earth with Optimus, I don't think we'll be seeing much of the team anytime soon, until Springer's up and running and able to gather new recruits.

Impactor and Guzzle are still out there I think, and Sandstorm's still around. They're still Wreckers.

Magnus was never a Wrecker in IDW, he's just worked with them on occasion.

Yeah, the team is effectively disbanded for now, unless you count Impactor and Guzzle's exceedingly violent crusade against injustice as them being Wreckers. A run through of living Wreckers:

    - Broadside: was "all but lost" to the team in 'Bullets' for unknown reasons, so presumably officially off the team
    - Guzzle: crusin' the galaxy, fighting evil in the most violent way possible
    - Impactor: ditto
    - Kup: part of Optimus's team on Earth
    - Perceptor: aboard the Lost Light
    - Roadbuster: at Debris, caring the comatose Springer
    - Sandstorm: latest appearance at the trial, probably back on the Lost Light
    - Scoop: presumably still on Cybertron (although his recent characterisation calls into question whether he was ever a member or just tagged along in 'Stormbringer')
    - Springer: comatose
    - Whirl: kicked out for trying to euthanize Springer

I guess you could call Impactor and Guzzle that. They are still wrecking.

Sandstorm escorted Megatron during the trial, so there's a six-month gap where he could have done plenty after that.

I miss Twin Twist & Top Spin.

    Isn't Broadside out there too?

We can still have flashback one-off stories, right??

Well, I'm sure Impactor is calling it that, but he and Guzzle are not recognized by the Autobot military as an officially operating unit. Thus, not Wreckers in an official sense.

Sandstorm had been aboard the Lost Light since its launch, and with the war over, I doubt he did much wreckin' between the trial and the Lost Light departing again. He and Broadside seemed to acclimate to the civilian lifestyle pretty quickly.

As others have said, it seems likely the Wreckers will make their return when Springer makes his big comeback. I hope it's soon, prior to MTMTE he was always my favorite Autobot. (Thanks to Roberts he now has to share that title with like five others.)

Broadside was seen at Megatron's trial too. Is he still a Wrecker?

Oh, Sandstorm's officially still on the LL? I must have missed that.

Sandstorm's whereabouts are kind of speculative. A comment Wheeljack made in RID would indicate he was no longer on Cybertron, the LL seemed the most likely place he'd be. His sudden return for Meg's trial jives well with that idea, but there's no indication as to where he is currently.

As for Broadside, see Jalaguy's post above. There was a weirdly cryptic line in the "Bullets" story in the Wrecker's TPB, it seems to indicate he had some sort of falling out with the team.

He stayed behind on Cybertron and has popped up sporadically throughout RID. Oddly enough, he seems to be the head of communications, despite his background as a Wrecker. I don't even recall them showing him taking up arms when the city was under siege.

Perhaps he saw enough violence in his career that he wants no part of it anymore. Maybe that's why he's on the LL now, he might think it's the more peaceful option. (He'd most likely be wrong about that of course.)

Probably because he didn't have a chance to before Devastator brought down high command on top of him.

Yeah, that's true. Was he shown among those in the medibay during Dark Cybertron? I can't recall.

It still struck me as odd he was always manning a comms screen. Being a big, bulky bruiser, and an (ex?)Wrecker, you think he would have been more suited to an enforcement job like Sideswipe and Whirl had. It just made me read into it a bit, especially with the comment about him in Bullets.

Broadside was also on the Lost Light. We see him carrying the coffin in the most recent issue.

Barber and Roberts said the reasoning for that in TDOOP was that his having both a boat mode and a jet mode meant he'd know about landing both, so he'd be able to help ships land on the planet.

    Wreckers are weird.

The team in LSotW clearly did not have Whirl or Roadbuster. However, later the latter "officially" kicks out the former, for trying to euthanize Springer, who was wounded in LSotW. Also, a lot of the grim fates Roberts implied for former members kinda didn't pan out that way at all. Are Broadside and Sandstorm still "official"? Whirl is the only one called out as an "ex-Wrecker." Is Roadbuster bored of reading to Springer yet? It's all pretty up in the air, you just know they are waiting for a new mini-series.

Same here: since Topspin's spark was removed by the machinery at Aquitas, I wonder if his spark could be recovered?

Ooohhh..that would be cool. I love the way Top Spin went out. No fear, knowing he was doing what had to be done without flinching.

For some reason, everytime I read LSOTW I read Top Spin in Kurt Russel's voice ala Snake Plisken.

No way he could be recovered, the machine that removed Top Spin's spark was called a "Suicide Lock" for a reason- it's also specifically why Ironfist was brought onto the Wreckers (to act as a sacrifice for Aequitas).

I wouldn't call Scoop a Wrecker. He was just hired for use of his vehicle mode. He was only shown in that scene with them and nowhere else.
