If you'd ask me, it's FOC and the 2007 DS games.

Very difficult question... although if I had to choose, it’d be between Transformers: War for Cybertron and Transformers: Fall of Cybertron.

Without a question, FoC. It blows my mind that there wasn't a true sequel. I heard that the studio behind Devastation was told they had free reign over what to do with their Transformers game, implying they could have continued the WFC-type games, but chose to pump out the multiplayer-less Devastation instead. What a kick in the nuts. To know that we were that close to another WFC-type game. If only Hasbro had picked a different studio.

I think the 2nd transformers game in the cybertron games is the best. Plus i think that game was way too much fun cause you could get weapons easier as compared to the first game. I think devastation was just slightly harder and really didn't play fair on some combat. Now the look and feel of it into that G1 look and feel it was just perfect in every way.

Though I also enjoyed the Beast Wars game just because I really like Beast Wars... even though it included designs that were never in the cartoon, Hidden Characters were unlockable only by cheat code not by actually playing the game, hidden characters were also just recolors of the main characters so every model in the game had four alternate color schemes. Optimus PRI Al's were all avalible right from the start. Cheetor only had two that were actually his while the other two were Tigatron and Ravage. Tarantulus had three alternate color schemes with the fourth being a super deformed version of him for Blackarachnia. Also Megatron had three playable color schemes plus a non-playable Megatron-X version with dragon wings in place of his butt fans that served as an NPC only boss... honestly it's the worst fighting game I've ever played and I've played A LOT of fighters but it was Beast Wars and I'm biased.

As a person who likes turn-based strategy and RPG, I would highly recommend two games: the 2007 mobile game G1 Awakening (sadly, it's too easy and too short) and the 3DS Rise of the Dark Spark (emulating it can be hard, but it nearly feels like a very cut Pokemon game). There's also the tactical browser game Transformers Energon: Battle for Megatron, some levels proved to be rather challenging when I played it many years ago.

To me, the most polished one out of all of the TF games is Fall of Cybertron. It had a fully flushed out story, great voice acting, improved gameplay on War For Cybertron, and had great graphics and sound design. Devastation is fun to play but the story was a bit lacking and levels felt repetitive. If I had to rank the ones I played, it'd be this order:

    1. FOC
    2. Devastation
    3. WFC

    Beat me to it.

This is still without a doubt one of the best TF games we've ever gotten.

Dark of the Moon was... a major disappointment, especially showing how 4 great games came out years before.

    This 100%.

Only bought it as it was a transformers game. Was very pleasantly surprised to find out how good actually was.

It’s hard to choose between the PS2 Armada game & FOC. I love them both!
In terms of pure gameplay & variety, I give it to Armada.
WFC is great too, but FOC is like WFC except with more varied ways to play & the graphics & textures are more varied too, resulting in a better looking Cybertron. So in terms of presentation, FOC wins out. I think I prefer it’s Escalation mode to WFC’s as well, since there’s an actual end-goal & it doesn’t just go on forever.

No offense but I don't appreciate the amount of loose ends and plotholes the cybertron games left behind. If it's environments were opened like Armada, Prototype, GTA, etc. I'd appreciate the graphics more instead of outlooking it as a hallway to the next level/cutscene. It is a planet so you should get feel that you got more space and places to go.
