So I've never understood what's coming out of this guys mouth. Now it's a cool shot, but what the hell's coming out of his mouth? At first, I thought they were sparks, but there's no metal on metal contact. I then figured it was saliva, but there's no way that much saliva was knocked out of his mouth. Now I know the average human being chooses not to swallow his or her saliva, and he or she will often keep it contained for hydration or until they can no longer contain it, but I find it unlikely that this is the fluid. Unless he had a mouth full of spit, that's something else. Plus it has a yellowish color.
It's spit. Everything else in the shot has a yellow coloring to it due to the lighting. As for why there is so much, he is essentially getting punched by a car. They can't show blood, so they have to go with this.
Was such a cool shot. There were a whole bunch of gasps in the theater on opening night when it happened. But yeah it's saliva.
i thought for sure that this car was going to be a repaint of one of the twins. there was absolutely no way that something other than a transformer could make that sort of hit like that, but nope, it was some 20 year old kid. It actually took me right out of the movie and i had to force myself to just let it go since it was so early on and i didnt want to ruin the rest of it.
