Since BotCon is about 4 weeks away,I figured I'd start a thread.A thread asking what you guys are looking forward too. Since some of the other BotCon threads have a STRONG negative tone.I figured a positive thread might liven up the mood So I'll start this thread off 1)I TRULY EARNED this vacation.Since Winter 2005 I had to save and budget my money accordingly.And it's ALL come to fruition, I'm going to a sweet social event(I consider a Convention a social event)in a sweet hotel As well I celebrate my birthday the same week as BotCon.And at least 75% of the reason I'm going is that I figure it's a good way to celebrate my birthday 2)Meeting/Conversing with different people. It'll be nice to meet some board members face to face.I think that with the concept of Message Boards, sometimes someone can get the wrong idea of your personality based on how & what you post.So hopefully I'll get to know/understand some of you guys & girls a little better A major memory I had from OTFCC '03 was when it was pre-reg pick up day.It was a hot Chicago afternoon & a trio of conventioneers I met in the hotel let me share their place in line(A seriously LONG line IIRC)I didn't really know these people but they still kind of let me in.I thought that was seriously nice of them.Although I doubt I'd recognize them if I saw them 3)I possibly get to meet the members of the advisory board.I don't recall either a)Meeting Alverez or the Hartmans or b)*Assuming I have*It wasn't an official meet with a formal introduction.I consider those 3 celebrities(For lack of a better term)and how oftern do you get a chance to meet celebs 4)The special guests;I always remember that at OTFCC '03 I had a conversation with Greg Burger.I didn't remember him as the voice of Grimlock.I remembered him as the voice of Cornfed Pig from Duckman.In fact when he autographed my program guide he made sure to put in "Duckman fan" 5)The Hasbro pannel;I never got the chance to FULLY enjoy the Hasbro pannel last time.It was through a mistake of my stupidity,and I WON'T repeat that mistake again.I get to see cool slides and most importantly I get to learn new stuff about on of my hobbies *I should add that I'm looking forward to most of the pannels in general 6)The Saturday evening dinner;THIS was about 90% of the reason I pre-reged for the full package.I get good eats plus if this is ANYTHING like the OTFCC Dinner I'll get to small talk and get pictures with 1)Random fans and 2)The special guests 7)The Casino night;The last time I went to a casino event was when I graduated high school.I know a lot of people find it useless,but for me I plan to have a good time So what are you guys looking forward too?
I am looking forward to: 1. meeting some cool people who actually collect Transformers (no one I know here in Jax does) 2. going to a state that I have never been to before (Texas, duh) 3. stocking up on reissues I have yet to get (I will own Hound soon dammit!) 4. trying to locate old school TFs I want 5. completeing my collection of Transformers Action Cards and the Armada Trading Cards 6. finding a Sunstorm and ghost of Starscream 7. Casino night sounds like it'll be a blast 8. I'm taking my mother with me and I hope that she has a good time because she really deserves a good vacation right now (she used to take me all over the place to conventions when I was younger so I'm hoping that this will be kind of an homage to that) I feel good about that 9. Dinner sounds delicious 10. The exclusive boxset of figures (apparently I'm one of like 3 people on this board who actually likes and appreciates what MC did ) Oh, and Happy Birthday Shaun, look me up when you get to Texas
1. Getting the hell out of the UK for a while. I can only stomach this place for so long before I have to go overseas. 2. Going back to the US. This will be my 6th visit. 3. Seeing the exclusives first hand. Hopefully when I see them on person, I'll change my mind and keep them. 4. Meeting up with people I know from here. One of the high points of Botcon last year was meeting so many cool people. I hope to repeat that. 5. The Dealer room. I have a hitlist of pieces I want to find, and I intend to make quite a dent in that list. 6. Going for beers with various people, including Hiro Prime and Kid Dynamite. 7. Geeking out over new stuff. Living in the UK means I miss out on a lot of stuff I can't necessarily afford to import. Even if I don't buy all of it, it'll be nice to actually see some of the stuff I see so many people on here taking for granted when they pick it up at their local shop. 8. Celebrating Shaun_C's birthday. You'd better believe it, sonny. We're going for a beer. 9. Meeting up with people I met last year again. I also want to talk to someone I have known for years, but recently fell out with. Don't ask who, if you don't know. And to that person; we need to clear the air. IM me if you want.

1) Meeting up with friends I've never met before. This is the main reason I'm going. So many faces to put to names. So much merriment to be had. Beers with Draven and Hiro Prime and heaven knows how many other people. 2) This is my vacation. My job is extremely stressful and this is a much-needed break. Plus, I love my family more than anything, certainly more than Transformers, but sometimes we need alone time, and this five days will be my alone time for the year. 3) The box set of toys. I like 'em. Sue me. 4) The surprises. What will the 8th exclusive be? What will the exclusives you can buy be? What have they got in store for us at the dinner? The anticipation is killing me! 5) The dealer room. I've got a hitlist already prepared. I'll also be making a run to the local stores for Cybertron for those who'd like to go. I LOVE the Cybertron line, but my week-to-week budget is limiting. My Botcon budget will let me catch up on the line. 6) The Hasbro panel. Always wanted to attend one of these. This time I will NOT sitting at home refreshing my browser waiting for new pictures to be uploaded, because I'll be seeing things in person. Other panels will probably be cool too...I want to check out the IDW one. 7) Taking a road trip, and checking two more states off the list of states I've been through (Arkansas and Texas). 8) Working the dealer room. I'm really looking forward to this, having a chance to get out there and meet as many people as possible...not just my friends from here, but people from all over the fandom. 9) Like you, Shaun, I'd like to speak with the advisory board guys. They've really taken a beating in recent weeks, and I'd like them to know that not everyone is dissatisfied. 10) Complimentary breakfast at the hotel. Little thing? Maybe...but four less meals to buy means more money for the dealer room.
We are hardly celebrities. Just fans who where in the right place at the right time. But thanks, that made my gloomy Sunday a lot better. Looking forward to meeting you and catching up with some other people at the show.
Well since unfortunately it looks like I'll be rolling into Botcon on a pretty tight budget I doubt I'll be doing any "big game hunting" I'd love to come out of there with Trizer and Noizu...but I just don't see that happening this year with all the home repairs and moving prep to consider. I am looking forward to actually being more social that I have in the past years and meeting people rather than just keeping my distance (In all reality I expect only dealers like Rework, Bickmore & Tony would recognise me...so I hope to add some real world buddies to the list) Other than that I'm looking forward to the panels & exclusive toys...at least I know I wont be going home empty handed Plus I'll be seeing relatives. My grandfather's brother lives in Dallas and at 94 this will probably be the last time I have the opportunity to see him...too bad my grandfather couldn't go himself (He's 91 and it would have been really nice for the 2 brothers to have some time together )
Everybody just about said everything I was going to say. Meet friends. Have a good time. Get figures that I can't get anywhere else. Vacation. Man, I can't wait for this. It's going to be a blast. Can't wait to meet you all.

Well it's a convention dedicated to Transformers so I think that pretty much speaks for itself Seriously I can’t wait, so looking forward to meeting up with fellow Transfans, especially from these boards, and this year I'm bunking up with Shawn_C and my brother CDNShockwave which should be quite the experience in itself. Only wish I could make it to his little party This being my 6-7 TF convention I must say I still get excited, especially over this one I don’t know I just have a feeling this ones going to be special. Its costing me a pretty penny to go but hot damn its gonna be well worth it I cant wait to meet ya'll.
