    I don't think it's ever been mentioned. But I'm sure you can gestimate it by finding out what year the TF movie supposedly took place, estimate his age, and go from there.
    What I want to know is, what ever happened to G1 Spikes mom? No mention of her at all. Just Spike and Sparkplug.

    Apparently his birthdate was established by a timeline published on Hasbro.com (which is now no longer there).

    Sparkplug's wife was killed by a compressed waste capsule after a passenger jet released it mid-flight. This is why he wears a hardhat.
