I personally think Ehren Kruger solo did a better job then Orci and Kurtzman ever did. Some of the lines in DOTM were just perfect and the humor was much better timed too. The humor in TF1 and TF2 was just annoying.
a movie with Unicron, cause bob orci siad in 2009 that he would liked to add Unicron in the third movie
I honestly think it would've been a lesser movie. Orci & Kurtzman's stories seem to benefit far more from the director and/or actors than from the strength of the scripts they write.
I agree, I thought that the acting performances in Star Trek saved the movie for me after the whole alternate timeline bullcrap.
I think DOTM would have been just as bad as the previous 2 movies if Orci and Kurtzman had stayed. It frustrates me because they also wrote Star Trek, and I thought it was great. You could tell they were fans of Star Trek; they knew what they were writing about. Transformers on the other hand...You could tell that they were totally clueless about what to do, or how to write a decent Transformer story. Hasbro probably had to tell them about Transformers and Orci and Kurtzman winged it from there. They changed the Transformers all around first, then added the familiar settings. DOTM on the other hand took the familiar TF settings, and then added the changes, which is why I thought DOTM was the better film.
I kinda got to quasi-disagree here. In regards to TF1, the didn't write the movie so much as they were the cleanup crew after John "how the hell do I keep getting work after I wrote Catwoman" Rogers bailed. They probably weren't allowed to make too many substantial changes. And regards to ROTF...all things considered it's a miracle they were able to even get a treatment together, much less a whole script. Making it totally fit into TF lore was a separate task all by itself.
Hmm, I wasn't aware there was another writing staff before Orci and Kurtzman. Well that might explain a few things.
