Going camping at Kentucky Lake. We had a boat and we would ski and fish. Or just road trips when gas was cheap. Maybe the best was waking up and knowing that everything was taken care of. All I was responsible for was being a kid.
Transformers, GI Joe, He-Man, Battle Beasts, Baseball Cards, NES, bike riding, breakfast cereal, Saturday morning cartoons, Calvin and Hobbes, and Dayton Ohio.
One of my birthdays we had a party at a local arcade back before they all closed and I was pumping an insane amount of quarters into the mecca of my childhood...The Konami TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Arcade game...everyone was crowded around me as I continued through the game all the way to the end when I was just about to beat Shredder...he was blinking red and orange profusely, which we all know equals a close death when I got hit by one of his stray slashes and died. The whole crowd was screaming as I went to my mother for another quarter so I might finish the game...unfortunately she was out of quarters, and we all had to stand and watch as the continue countdown ran out and the game was over. I was so close... On a side note, my ultimate goal now is to find an actualy TMNT arcade cabinet for my apartment. I found one a while back for $300 but didn't have the cash for it. Oh well...keep on searching
My very earliest memory is seeing Star Wars at a drive-in when I was three. We had an old Dodge van with curtains on the windows that didn't quite match the van. Playing with the other kids in the neighborhood, as there were quite a few of us around. Running to elementary school because I loved going.
Me too! Favourite Memory Going to my First Trip to a hobby Store. Bought on that day Classics Mirage Classics Grimlock Robot Master Victory Saber (Starsaber and Victory leo) Energon Landmine (Who'a junker now) T_T RID Stormjet Legends Thryticon Legends Preceptor Back in Deember of 2006.
Does discovering masturbation count? Seeing the Empire Strikes Back sits somewhere above or below that.
Dang i would have to say Saturday Mourning Cartoons, transformers, gi joe, lazer tag, TMNT, Power Rangers....then i would say hanging out with my sister she is like my best friend how about when i told her today that i was going to botcon and she doesnt even care that much for Transformers she told me she wanted to go with me!
i had a Happy Days stand up Pinball machine. Getting the wish books from sears and JcPenney. having the old woodgrain Atari 2600 and staring in disbelief as my dad totally owned my ass at Combat! School Halloween Carnivals before they were criticized to death into being "less scary/less religious Holiday Fairs... we could be little devils back then, literally... Once a year, the army would land a Huey at the edge of our school's playground and the pilots would tell us all about it- we got to watch them take off at the end. Chuck E. Cheese. we gout our first mall back in 86 and it was all so 80s that now when i walk in there, i feel sad because the 80s were cooler. i bought my first rap tape there. Run DMC. We got a TRU less than six months later and they had Predaking (well, a part here, a part there, but if ya waited long enough, you got it all.) I knew childhood was ending for me when i bought THE guns n' roses tape and realized i had a massive jones for the 8th grade girls P.E. coach. from childhood you entire Juvie...and then...paroled into Adulthood.
Their are two childhood memories for me the 1st is every weekend we would visit my grandparents in the nursing home and, no matter how quiet I was my grandfather would always know it was me. The second is every summer for to week my family and I would go up to the Cape for 2 weeks. My sis and I would always walk to the candy shop 3-4 blocks from the hotel.
