I remember my first transformer as if it were yesterday. The only transformer I wanted at the time was G2 optimus prime cuz I was born six years after his death and after watching many reruns of the old show and the G2 revamp I was totally obssessed with him.

I believe it was RiD X-Brawn. Oddly enough, he's the only Transformer I've ever lost.

This question has been asked several times over the years (it's been over a year since last asked), and every time it's Windcharger, I think. Hell it's been 25+ years.

I used to think mine was G1 Smokescreen back in 84 or 85... I remember a birthday shortly after my family moved to NJ, but I don't know if I turned 3 or 4. I was born in 81, so if I WAS 3, Smokescreen wouldn't have been out. I remember my mom telling me that Wheeljack was my first, but that was... well, 25 years ago. It might have been Bluestreak, too - I remember that first one sitting on the kitchen table on said birthday, and I really think it was one of the Fairlady-Z cars.

First one(s) I bought for myself were the G2 Constructicons, minus Mixmaster and.... err... the other leg (I had G1s, though missing parts). :p  I still have that almost-complete Devastator, too, but one of the arms broke off at the connection point. :(  (there might have been micromasters in there somewhere, but timeline is so blurry, it could be an abstract painting of absolutely no value!)

My parents say it was G1 Blaster, but I had a red Bumblebee too. So I actually think it was that.

I remember getting the Stunticons for Christmas in 86' but really couldn't tell you what was my very first Transformer. Maybe it was G1 Megatron. Or was that a hand me down. Shit, I can't remember man.

    From Hasbro............It was Ironhide.

But for almost 2 years before Hasbro released the TF's I was collecting Diaclones and Micro-changes robots in China Town NYC.

My first TF was either Gears or Windcharger... A minibot colored with red...

And the first TF I bought with my own money (through K-Mart Lay A Way) was Long Haul and the individual constructicons. The giftset came later for Christmas...

I dont think I was able to finish the Lay A Way. Hey, I was kid...

Years later I grew up and sold off my TFs through many a garage sale.

    I managed to keep 2.

Optimus Prime in his crumby box with styrofoam. And a complete Jetfire.

I got back into collecting years later (as an adult) with the Alternators and Masterpiece lines. Never stopped to look back!

It's great to be a Tfan!

I think my first was BW Snapper, but that was about 10-15 years ago. First one I bought myself was RID Prime.

G1 Mirage from TRU. ...sigh..(pause for fond memory)...

It's funny...I remember the Gobots coming out around my area around the same time the G1 minibots started showing up and me thinking...

These Go-bots are SO much cooler. They look so much more like real-life vehicles than the TFs.

Then my parents got me that G1 Mirage...never bought a Go-bot after that.

I can't remember my first childhood Transformer. I have pictures from when I was a kid, opening up toys on Christmas, including Powermaster Prime and the Terrorcons. But, I have no clue which was my first, or if I had anything older than that.

The first thing I bought when I got back into collecting was a KO Shockwave (I didn't know it was a KO cos the guy's photo was dark and low-res). And naturally, a beat-up Soundwave after that.

G1 Astrotrain for Christmas in '85, or '86.
As a kid I used to love trains, so my family bought it... they didn't know what they started :p
