My favorite one has to be Devastator the way how the CGI looked like, what's your favorite?

 

The transformation of Optimus Prime in the 2007 film where he drives out of the alleyway in Mission City, transforms, and prepares to face Megatron. The angles on that scene were great and the CG was so well done.

 

May sound arbitrary, but Lockdown.

 

Ironhide at the beginning of ROTF. For some reason it still gives me goosebumps. It's really nicely shot and you can really see the transformation happening, they obviously spent a lot of time on it. Shame the movie sorta went downhill from there!

Starscreams hit and run in in TF1, said a hundred times more about his character than any dialogue he was given!

There's a lot going through my mind now, if there's one thing these movies seem to have got right, it's awesome transformations. The occasional Transmorph aside.

 

Can't wait to see how Hound, Drift, Crosshairs, Galvatron, and the Dinobots transforms in AOE

 

In the chase scene in DOTM. Bee, Sideswipe and Dino were being chased by the Dreads. They knocked down the expressway road sign and in order to avoid being killed, Bee had to transform in mid-air with Sam. That shot was just all kinds of cool.

 

It's hard to decide. I've always loved Jazz's transformation like he's break dancing but Prime's first transformation after he landed was so incredible. And yeah Devastator's is pretty sweet too....so was Ironhide's when he jumped over that woman...and Blackout's...

When it comes to Bay's films, you can love them or you can despise them but you have to admit his films take the cake for awesome transformations.

Hard to choose just one, but Optimus' arrival in Mission City.

 

I'd say Bee's transformation to the old Camaro after battling Barricade.

 

At the end of TF07 during the final battle, when Blackout flies by the alley where Lennox is hiding and transforms.

It's seamless, it's fast, it's a nice wide shot, and it's the least "cheating" of any transformation we've gotten.

Bumblebee transforming and telling sam to get in, right after he defeated barricade, is a close second, for the same reasons.

 

Optimus Prime in DOTM, right before he said "You LIED to us." Everything about it was just perfect. Ironhide prefaced that scene with "He's Pissed", and goddamnit, EVERYTHING about what followed it made sure we fucking knew it. The sounds were a lot harsher and tougher, every click, bang, and metallic growl was intense, the way he seemingly sprouted fucking Demon Wings of Metal during it...all topped with his giant metal fists pounding the ground. The only thing I wish was done differently was that Cullen said "You LIED to us" with a LOT more intensity-but it's probably hard to do a voice that deep and make it kinda growly. To me, not only in terms of emotional significance, but ALSO visual symbolism, it's the best transformation in the movie.

 

Megatron in Africa. Nothing flashy, but we got a great shot of the transformation and the way he transformed was indicative of the poor shape he was in. Even though it was somewhat broken up in the trailer, I loved Lockdown's transformation.

 

I gotta say Ironhide in Revenge of the Fallen and Sideswipe, every time.

 

Sideswipe in ROTF. Just a thing of absolute beauty.

 

For me, it's either Blackout's transformation at the air base in the first movie, or when Optimus transforms in midair after driving out of the air carrier in ROTF.

This. I still love that whole fast pace action scene how he goes from a car straight on to his wheel feet in 'bot mode "CLEAR A PATH!"
