I was amazed at how much 1980s Transformers there was to be found after years of going without seeing anything in the late 90s. I hadn’t watched Rebirth in many years at the time.

Not my image but it was this.

A Megadeth live cdr from the Cryptic Writings tour. Ebay was the wild west back in the day.

A Transformer. I can't remember which one, honestly, just that it was G1. And some parts to complete it. Man, those days. Wow.

G1 Blitzwing. Loose, but mint complete with instructions etc. $40 IIRC.

I want to say a G1 Optimus Prime (84/85). Of all the G1 figures I wanted and never had, he was #1. I remember how amazed I was at just how many vintage figures still existed after eBay started rolling.

A Beta Nether Shadow, I think I paid like 8 bucks for it. It was in the very early days of Ebay.

I can't remember whatsoever and even my records (old emails) don't go that far back...

If I was to try and guess in regards to TFs, I know that I did hunt for Machine War stuff as we never got them up here, so I'd guess around 1997-1998 and for the jets mostly as they were the Cyberjet follow-up for me...

Felt just like yesterday (Well sorta 2012 lol) but it was a BIN MMC Leo Dux. The funny thing I was unsure on how eBay/PayPal worked or even if the seller was a scammer or not so I took a leap of faith and bought that. Thank Goodness everything worked out at the end.

Unfortunately though can't say I've used eBay in almost a year in a half or so.

Fansproject Protector Armor when I was around 14. I bought it with my own money, but had a family member help me.

It arrived it and it was just the trailer husk, no armor. I was devastated. I paid $90 for it and for a 14 year old, that was a lot of money. But after that when I got money, I would save it to but Generations and Classics figures off of ebay.

I got my first job when I turned 16 around 2014, I wanna say the first thing I bought with my own money was a complete set of Toa Metru from Bionicle.

"The good ol' days" when KOs were either non-existent or hilariously bad. If if looked G1, it was actual G1.

Definitely the good ol’ days. What a paradigm shift we got to experience back then!

Mid90's. The first thing I remember is G1 Optimus. Got ripped off because seller never mentioned it had no hands or gun. This was before there were pictures on things, or at least on everything, and I was too naive to ask. I remember checking the auction status on the text based Unix computer they had set up for community use in my college dorm. Spent $44, which was crazy money in those days. I still have that Op, with parts from a beater I bought a little later.

Flea markets were still an excellent resource for vintage toys back then, and eBay still had competition from bulletin board type sites like BigRedToyBox and Yahoo auctions. I flipped a number of items from one site to another for massive profits of like $5. Shipping was $3.20 for priority mail.

    God I'm old.

MLP G4 Applejack brushable hair doll from some game shop back in like, 2011.

I ended up getting a loose complete TR Rippersnapper from them years later, below MSRP no less!

I'm not certain, but the first thing I can recall buying there was a Laserline CD storage rack. I don't have it any more, as I no longer buy CDs unless they have a track I can't get otherwise or I get them at a garage sale, thrift shop, etc. (and even then I just rip them and they end up in a box).

I've sold quite a bit of stuff on eBay, but I seldom buy anything there.
