Actually no, this guy was very cooporative so I got both address, phone number and proof of his identity etc. So I had no problems completing the deal after I felt I had done all I could to make sure it wasn't scam, and which it wasn't. Believe it or not there do exist trustworthy people on ebay, it's just a shame it's a rare "breed" these days.  

 

Oh, and a 99% complete G1 Devastator for free from my friend who dug out his (brother's) old toys out of the attic to sell them on ebay. The only problem was that Hook is broke in the middle, but he still fits together ok.

 

When I essentially got Primal Prime for free. Long, complicated story, but it counts as a deal.

 

I'd like to hear more about that...

I got my 'Bee for $9 and some change after tax (yay sale!) but it has enough flaws to count more as a waste of money than a deal.

Well congrats on the deal. I wasn't thinking you got scammed but just those situations can tend to raise flashing red lights as they come up. You obviously took the smart route with getting supporting info. I have had a couple of good experiences through but outside of ebay too (MIB c9 G1 Megs $100), I was sort of anxious until I got the packages though and I have been scared off of a couple of potentially good deals in such a context due to the amount of $ involved.

I forgot, theres one other forum for TF's I belong to (but not as cool as this Forum lol) , and a member over there was looking for help finding a R/C car. He got chewed out for asking for help by about 10 members because he said he would give a free TFTM Bumblebee to who ever helped him look for one (finding it or not).

I sent him a few links to help him find his R/C car, asked a few friends of mine fore help, and about 2 weeks later he sent me the TFTM Bumblebee concept, and a TFTM 70's Camaro Takara for free (both on cards). It was a complete shock to me, I'm a new collector and it was the first Takara in my collection from the TFTM series.

I love telling that story... keeps my faith in people and the good things they can do for other collectors.
