When I have my figures around, I often have two or three transformers standing near each other. However, I have noticed some figures just look like they are comrades, mortal enemies, or just really good contrast to one another? You always have them together, you don't know exactly why, or you do.

I find this important to know, so when you display your transformers together, you know who should be next to who. Recently I have found two entries to this theory.

Universe/Classics Cyclonus, and Generations Thrust. I don't know why, but they seem like Heckle and Jeckle.. just... two menacing individuals that would normally kick your around... till Optimus or Rodimus comes in and blasts them away.

But my favorite duo has to be.

Universe/Classics Hound and Generations Drift. They just.... contrast so well. A soldier, and a Samurai... Both bold, but in their own ways. Hound of an older time but newer ideals, while Drift representing a new era, but with an even older idealism. They look stunning together, they NEED to be together.

So from now on, those two duos, will be inseparable.

Now please, post your examples, and hopefully with your own pictures.

I mean, it makes sense doesn't it?

As an art student, you need to have balance between colors, designs, concepts...

I love high contrast, in all fronts.

I don't have any pictures at the moment, but the only pairing I have had in my displays recently that won't go away (and that isn't blatantly obvious like Soundwave/Ravage) is NEST Bludgeon and Mindwipe. They both are very angular and brooding/menacing looking (and they kind of remind me of the Halloween season's aesthetic, which I love), and both have blades in each hand. One in the sky and one on the ground, kicking ass together.

I mean, Skids and Mudflap are needed, but character wise, you have to have them together......

So that means a third person would have to be brought in.. For instance.

You saw Bee is around them in TF2, and he seems to slap the two ******icons back to their place. So maybe the Three Human alliance figures would do well together.

Call me old fashioned, a G1er, or whatever else you want (cant be any worse then some of the stuff I've been called on the boards). The best duo in the TF universe is still the car brothers to me. I can't even say one without the other:

    Following the classic pair tradition:

But breaking with tradition heres a pair that were made to do battle:

Ever since the City Commander armor came out, Ultra Magnus looks like the only Classics Autobot cable of surviving a fight with Classics Onslaught!

When the FP Bruticus set is released to the masses I'm sure there will be some epic Superion VS Bruticus photos out in no time!

Very interesting, I love how they have this "Bro" attitude about one another... like, not a Mudflap, and Skids "Homies" attitude... but moreso a noble attitude.

Love that Soundwave, but you need some Reprolabels on it to make it look like the G1 one a bit. Unless you like that clean look, then by all means, it looks awesome.

But yea, I get the traditional flow to it.

Heh, didn't think about that one, but It looks really bad ass. Great choice of a fight scene.

And looks like you have an awesome collection.

Thanks. Check out my collection pics in my sig

Yeah, I just wish he got his own mold. I know Hasbro _has_ to do repaints, but I dunno it just didn't work for me.

    Mindwipe and Skystalker:

Personally, the combo makes more sense than say, Seaspray and Breacher.

    ROTF Soundwave and Legends class......Soundwave!

Imagine the weapons to be one of those large bore super hyper mega ultimate cannons seen in Japanese anime shows.

    Do Minicons count?
    WFC Prime and Chopster
    [IMG]
Melee weapon minicons are always a novelty.

TFU Inferno with red Skyboom Shield.

Honestly, I'd rather go for more of the "undocumented" Mindwipe-Skystalker combo than say, Energon-style 2-bot combinations.

This is the ROTF Equivalent to Soundwave and Ratbat... or so I've heard.

I've seen Legends Class Soundwave used as a weapon a lot lately.

Everyone seems to be doing this one... it's almost to the point where you'll pay for a shoddy combiner just for the minicon.

Damn, that looks awesome. I didn't know there was a Red Skyboom minicon set.

    Agreed wholeheartedly

I've always really liked the arch nemesis-type of showdowns :)

The quintesential Optimus + Jetfire combo....plus its other iterations depending on what color you're mixing and matching....

Has anybody tried Cybertron Voyager Soundwave and ROTF Legends class Ravage?

Courtesy of "oknarf" of Cybertron Philippines -- Purple TFA Shockwave in Shockwave mode holding a WST Justitoys Shockwave.

    On Army Building:
One of my favorites -- G1 Scorponok in scorpion or base mode surrounded by at least half a dozen TFTM Legend class Scorponoks! (hope you guys don't mind that the Legends Scorponoks are KO's....at least the tail barbs don't get brittle)

HFTD Banzaitron and Bludgeon up front followed by a dozen HFTD Brimstone's (the motorcyle) all in robot mode....

@Medri Fogmatio -- Yup, the red Skyboom shield is a hasbro repaint. Best part is it won't cost as much as say the X-Dimension Skyboom sheild.
