One of the things I LOVED about the movie figures from the past 2 movie lines is weapons integration. Be it from Premium Prime's fold out/pop out sword, Battle Blades Bumblebee's retractable axe and blaster, et al.

The new deluxe Starscream looks cool but if there are no arm cannons molded on, and his only weapons are the over-sized mech tech ones, then I will be disappointed.

Umm........... What am I looking at here? It's so amazingly CRACKTACULAR that I lost my mind momentarily. I am However okay with the Voyager prime though, now that I have seen him literally in a good light. Unique.

However, I do get the sense that most of this line is going to be the bastard child of the Movieverse (which I like) and most of the Unicron Trilogy (which I loathed). It's ugly power links and the like all over again. Just watch, they'll re-release an legion of Cybertron Runamuck repaints and just call it squarsies. (cringe, shudder, bends over to vomit.)

 

Oversized weapon? WTF? Wait for clearance as I think they made this toy for that purpose --- clearance. Now that 2012 is nearing, i believe we also reached the end of our creativity. Goodbye human race.

There's a fine line between funny hyperbole and hyperbole that makes the user just sound histrionic and sad. However, you're nowhere near it.

On another note, if you think the MechTech weapons are ugly, you won't like them any better if you collect every single one and they combine into...a bigger ugly thing. So...don't bother. Not a tough concept.

 

This is turning out to be a ridiculous toy line. I'll still with Revenge of the Shield, Generations, and Human Alliance. The mainline of movie toys is pure garbage. Worst gimmick ever.

Mechtech is the gimmick, and it's line-wide.

Meaning, no, it includes Deluxes and Leaders as well.

 

Ok, definently burning this set if i see it. It needs to be destroyed!

So far i`m very dissapointed with the toyline. The weapon gimmick (Possibly turning into the ark) will still suck.

I believe we have seen;

Deluxe Starscream (Cool, but pointless now)
Voyager Ironhide (Looks the same as the ROTF Ironhide just thinner)
Voyager Optimus Prime (Looks terrible)
Voyager Megatron (Just stupid)
Leader Bumblebee (Shelf-warmer of 2011 onwards)

 

The hate some of you guys have for Bumblebee is both pathetic and hilarious.

 

Even tho some of the designs are nice,what really gets to me is all these huge weapons on little bitty alt modes,and also the raised weapon peg holes,especially on ironhide as I have seen 3 on him.I realize Hasbro is on a time schedule but surely they could've designed these without all the ports sticking up,even they could a went the opposite and done them sunk in instead.

Finally judging by the looks of this line,its gonna probably be one line I am gonna skip except for maybe 3 or 4.Total Letdown Hasbro with these figures.

 

Ok, enough is enough with the big-ass guns being bolted to toys.

If these "bits" don't all combine into one big-ass kick-ass robot... then they are making a flying arc to the trash can as soon as I touch them.

It appears as if DOTM is going to be the poster child for gimmicks gone crazy.

 

...how? They're just weapons. Leave them off if you don't like them. Not very difficult. "Gimmicks gone crazy" would be more like Energon, where many of the main Autobots were shit so that they could all form a shirt or a pair of pants.
