Same stuff has gone on every year in the past. Same stuff will continue to go on in years to come. That's life, at least for the forseeable future.
From the look of this thread I thought that something big in the world might have happened when I was away all day. But torches and pitchforks everyone! Torches and pitchforks!!!
The thread title should be asked whenever some change that is good actually happens for once. The horrible stuff is the same ole shit just a different day.
I'm usually not in favor of megathreads, but I really wish there would be a dedicated "really bad crimes and soft news" thread (Also a "I just got System X, make suggestions for me" thread in G&A). Everyone can just pour all outrage into that. I really wish we could have something a little more lively like back in the ol days here.
Yeah, it's fucked up lately over here. Just yesterday a guy beat his girlfriend to death http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/article/2008/Jan/17/br/br9508412637.html A month ago there a kid got stabbed to death just down the street from my house. http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/article/2007/Dec/27/br/br8421593076.html What happened today is the worst. For most of the day, all I knew was that they closed down the freeway. Then later someone said a crackhead threw his kid off the overpass. My heart goes out to the kids family.
That's terrible what happened!! Poor kid, is the guy going for a mental assessment or something!? Someone normal couldn't do something like that to a young child!! What is society coming to??

I feel sorry for the poor toddler. As for the guy who did that, I'd hope there's a place in hell for asshats like him.
Yeah, the whole 'OMG something bad has happened near my area so i'm making a thread about it so you can read about it now and act shocked or offended cause you nothing horrible has ever really happened before until this' thing has gotten a tad stale. You can't help but click the threads out of morbid curiousity, but still...
