Anyone know? Not that I miss him or anything, but it is really a mystery to me. He was absolutly dominating the shelves at my local Targets and Walmarts (nj central) to the tune of at least 10 per store. Targets around me dropped him to 7 and still he stood there as a monument to failure. Now, POOF! He's gone, disapeared like Verbal Kint. Like, did they send them all to the same warehouse as the Ark of the Covenant or something?

Sent them back to Hasbro? Gave them to charity? I don't know if either is an option for retail stores, but that's just a guess.

Last I saw them they were under $4, now they are gone. Fortunately, I was not one who participated in their disappearance.

Discount outlets like Big Lots may have taken some of the excess. I bet Big Lots everywhere will have Mudflaps by the dozen for $15 in the coming months.

They went to the place where your other sock went.

Probably hanging out next to all of the Jetfire gun clips.

Some of that inventory was probably returned to the warehouse, and will be sent to us lucky "double your action" entrants. If I get 3 tuner mudflaps I'm going to piss on them.

They are in the same landfill as the original Atari "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial" cartridge.

At my Target they sold when they hit 75% off clearance. At the Walmart and TRU near me they are still warming the pegs next to (rather than behind, for better or worse) the new stuff.

Target seemed to have cleared them off nicely with the 75%. I still see some of the stuff that they can't get rid off even at the 75% off mark like the Prince of Persia and A-Team.

man i hope hasbro marketing learned a lesson there, the whole mudflap/skid attraction was targeted at kids who already got theirs when the movie was out. packing 2 tuner mudflap in every box of the later waves to the adult collectors was pure "genius". the 7th(?) wave stuffs we got from the double action giveaway were probably cancellations from the stores after seeing how long the mudflaps and wheelies are (still) sitting on the shelves.

For everyone saying "they sent them back to Hasbro/the warehouse." I'm pretty sure that's not how they work. You can't send anything back to Hasbro, nor would a retailer want to, since the toys they bring into the store are basically bought by that store by the case. Hasbro isn't going to take them back.

Those stores, if anything, sold them off to other stores like BigLots or Kohls who buy overstock or "out of season" products from larger chains.

As much as sending those toys to charity would be nice, I highly doubt any retail store does or would.

I actually caved and bought one a few weeks ago at Target for the awesome price of $2.57 plus tax. I got two, one for me and one for my step-son.

The sheer amount of Tuner Mudflaps had the mass required to generate a gravitational pull with each other.

As more and more Tuner Mudflaps merged into the growing singularity, it created a giant Black Hole of Suck. The BHOS then opened up a tear in space time, forming a gateway to the Bizarro universe where they magically transmogrified into opposite versions of themselves aka Animated Arcee.
