I wish the 2015 rid show wasn’t a thing the toyline is great but the show is horrible it wouldn’t have been look on as it is now if it wasn’t a sequel to prime it wouldn’t have given fans high expectations but it does poorly as a prime sequel and a lot of the concepts doesn’t make sense like why are most of the Decepticons animals, why are the end villains defeated so easily and it last in only two episodes, the ending didn’t even feel like a struggle, and no deaths beside megatonus, the starscream and stunticon arc is the only ones I liked but the rest is the same old one of the bee team does something wrong and when it looks like they learned a lesson the next season they are back to default.

    Hm.

I guess Transformers: Prime, I feel like Hasbro and hopefully by extension we would be better off if that overpriced mistake never happened.

Personally, for me, I feel even the bad shows have some stuff that was good, but there are shows that were in a dire need of an overhaul for me. These would be TFA and TFP.

Both had great, inventive toylines (though TFA had some really serious QC problems with some figures and some TFP figures had incredibly cheap, brittle plastic that made me bite my nails), but the shows left a lot to be desired to me. I am harsh toward them, but I don't think they shouldn't exist, but they were in a great need of an overhaul.

For TFA, since it had a whole lot of designs for characters that weren't even important to the show, I would have preferred to make it an anthology show to take good advantage of those designs and basically expand on the universe and showcase different characters from episode to episode. If you want to make it a bigger universe, just go all out with it.

TFP... first of all, I would have used a crew that wouldn't be at loggerheads with the Hasbro people in order to create a much more concise show. Also, I would replace and improve on some of the core cast. The only one I would keep of the Autobot cast as he was is Bulkhead, since he was the only core cast character I liked in that show. I would also keep Wheeljack and Smokescreen as they were. Optimus... I would replace him with Rodimus and show him as a more vulnerable, more haunted leader. Ratchet, I would rather have someone like Siren to be the grouch and actually add some stuff to make him more endearing and not as annoying as Ratchet was. Arcee, I would replace her with Nautica and make her the fun-loving member of the team, that way, we wouldn't have to deal with mishandled PTSD. And Bumblebee... I would prefer to have ROTF Breakaway instead, in order to provide a cool-headed guy for the excitable Nautica to play off of. I would also take out Ultra Magnus and Cliffjumper, since they just didn't add anything to the story (plus, Ultra Magnus was such a useless damsel-in-distress).

On the Decepticon side... I would personally take Megatron off and promote Shockwave as Decepticon leader. His role as the threatening scientist would be taken up by Deluge, who wouldn't have an imposing physical presence, but he would have made up for it with his ruthlessness. Knock Out and Starscream I would keep as they were. Breakdown... I would replace him with Quake and Dreadwing, I would have used Blitzwing and have him join the Autobots at the end instead of being unceremoniously killed. Silas I would also keep, but I would have him become a full member of the 'cons instead of him being discarded.

The humans, I would keep Fowler and June Darby, but the kids have to go. Instead of them, I feel it would have been interesting to see the characters through June's eyes, and it gives them a very different sidekick, because she is a grown woman, so the dynamic would be different, and she would also serve as sort of a soothing presence for Rodimus, whom she would comfort in a motherly way whenever he felt down.

I want to delve more in story changes for TFP, but I won't torture people that much with it, so I'll leave it at that.

I remember the first time I heard of Kiss Players, my brain immediately conjured up an image of a radio/cd player with the faces of KISS on it. Then someone told me that it was essentially a Hasbro approved Rule 34. (My words, not his.) I'm sometimes alright with R34, so long as the content in question can easily lend itself to more mature elements and issues, but not when the girls look like 13-14 year olds. Yuck Takara/Hasbro. What the hell?!

Other then that, I wouldn't wish away any of it because it all has its place and every one of them has fans.

I second (fourth?) Kiss Players. Ew.

The Prime Wars Trilogy didn't seem to contribute anything useful to the franchise, so I'd be okay if it hadn't existed, either.

I wish I could say the same, but I have never checked the fiction at all, so I can't really establish a solid opinion about whether it should exist or not. However, from the few pictures I've seen... jeez. Makes me wanna avoid it even more.

Cyberverse. It feels like a sparknotes version of the whole franchise presented by a 9th grader and his friends.

I don’t have any strong opinions towards any specific piece of the franchise. I guess the only toys I regret wasting money on were the Cybertron figures because they looked ugly and had that stupid cyber key gimmick. The Beast Machines toys didn’t look spectacular but I never really bought them.

I don't necessarily wish anything didn't exist. I'm glad it all exists for the people who enjoy it, even if it's not my cup of tea.

If I had to pick a show, I'd say Combiner Wars. I feel like you could wipe that from existence and no one would care or miss it. I've never seen anyone say they love it, and even the people that like/defend it tend to add "it's not as bad as it could have been", or "it was a nice gesture to make a show for adult fans". If that's the highest praise people can give it, I don't know that it needs to exist.

It may seem like an odd choice for a toyline, but I've always taken a bit of an ethical problem with the 2007/2008 Premium Series (based on the first movie). These Premium toys were more faithfully decorated versions of the figures than the initial release. But...why not just make the initial releases faithfully decorated? It always felt like a sleazy tactic to get people to buy the same figure twice. It's one thing to add a new accessory or to do a repaint in a later toyline, but releasing the exact same figure "but better" less than a year after the initial release always felt like a cheap minimal-effort gimmick. Even as a kid I raised an eyebrow at that toyline. It's nowhere close to being the technically worst toyline, but it always felt wrong to me.

I'll throw my hat in against TF Prime as a cartoon - there have been plenty of threads about how bad that show was but the real kick in the pants was the sheer squandered potential between what was promised (and never delivered upon) and what the Aligned brand blueprint could have become had certain egos not been left unchecked by Hasbro. Toyline was okay though it suffered from not having a clear trajectory and being kind of a dumping ground for some figures like Thundertron (a book exclusive character, of all things).

And while it had some strong figures, the toyline wasn't particuarly great either. The First Edition series was never that well communicated as to the availability and Prime Airachnid is a legendarily bad figure in a post-ROTF toyline world.

Rid 2015, they should have just ended the aligned continuity after prime ended, they could’ve done cyberverse instead and if it had the same budget as rid it could’ve been the greatest transformers show ever considering the ideas the writers had

And kiss players we all know why,
    And revolution, that was godawful

I looked up a general description of kiss players and it sounds...strange. Does anyone wanna describe it to me in their own words?
