I always see him being written as the first Decepticon, more writers should use him as a Herald of Unicron like in the original Dreamwave version, I always liked that idea more

 

Personally, I would combine both ideas. I would have Megatronus falling from grace after killing Solus Prime, and when that happens, he basically gives up on life and decides to go on a path of destruction, which makes him go to Unicron.

He then becomes Unicron's main herald and is in command of the most evil schemers and powerful warriors in the universe. People like Jhiaxus and Bludgeon would answer to him.

 

I prefer The Fallen as a Herald of Unicron, and I'd rather he not have anything to do with the founding of the Decepticons (that is a role I feel should go back to Maximo).

 

I don't think Liege Maximo was introduced until the Aligned novels, I never liked him, I don't get why they couldn't have Megatronus Prime be the only evil one

 

Personally, I see him as the first (and possibly greatest) of Unicron's heralds. Unrelated to the rise of the Decepticons, which was more so an element of the Liege Maximo that he cannibalized in recent years thanks to ROTF. Mainly just an agent of destruction and chaos, like his master. No "Megatronus" as that name is just dumb, I'd rather we never knew what his real name was, like "The Shadowed one" from Bionicle.

He was introduced way before Aligned, at the very end of G2's comic series. He also appeared in Furman's "Alignment" story, the Aligned character is an incredibly shallow and inferior imitation of the original character.

 

I just wish the name “Megatronus” had never been invented. May be one of the stupidest fucking things I’ve ever seen come out of this brand.

There's a lot of competition for that title in this brand.

I liked the Dreamwave version though I quite like the Robots in Disguise version too.

As much as I love the G2 comic, I hate the spindly design of Liege Maximo and the suggestion he was the first Decepticon.

One the European Overlord packaging, Overlord is described as a new breed of Decepticon on the edge of known space which is how the G2 Cybertronians can be described.

Grimlock asked Jhiaxus if Liege Maximo was a person or a place. Overlord has a base mode.

If I had my way, Overlord and Liege Maximo would be the same character but not one of the Thirteen.

 

Either way I don't like the idea of Liege Maximo, there isn't room for 2 fallen Primes, it's better if Decepticons are found by either Megatron or just another Cybertronian before he came

I don't mind the name, Megatron naming himself after a legendary Cybertonian was around since the Beast Era

 

My conception of Megatronus is as sort of a Thor-type. revered by the Kaonians and the southern Cybertronians, who was later syncretized with a devil figure by the Iaconians.

 

When, in a war between the ogres and Quintessons, Shrek sneaked into Cybertron's factories and repair bays and gave life to Transformers via the Allspark, most of the Transformers rebelled against their Quintesson masters. However, there was one who was corrupted by the lustful, shape-shifting Quintesson Lord Farquaad. Fed lies about Shrek and the race of ogres by Farquaad, this Drekcepticon became an enemy of both his fellow Transformers and sought to finish the job of the Quintessons by pursuing any remaining ogres across the cosmos. With a powerful Transformer taking care of his mean, green enemies, Farquaad can focus more energy on acquiring a larger harem of alien princesses.

 

There's 13 of them, how is there "no room" for more than one fallen Prime?
Never mind that Maximo was created before the Thirteen were an established concept and the only member of the group at the time was Prima, playing the role of the First Cybertronian, and Maximo was only made part of the group by post-Aligned fiction (the original had no clear origins, only a connection with the the Decepticons as his 'descendants').

 

Because then The Fallen wouldn't be the odd one out, nor would the idea of an evil Prime be unique

 

I think the 13 Primes idea is stupid.

I'd rather The Fallen just be an Autobot Matrix holder that used it's knowledge for evil rather than good. The Matrix eventually rejected him, setting him eternally on fire, and the Autobots banished him. The Decepticons wanted nothing to do with him as they were still enemies. So he goes into hiding, building a cult that would eventually become a third Transformers faction.

 

The Fallen

Pre-G1 Era:

• The One creates Primus and Unicron
• Unicron turns bad
• Primus creates The 13 as soldiers to fight Unicron's physical form
• Unicron corrupts one of The 13 (Megatronus)
• Most of The 13 are killed
  
• He becomes known as The Fallen for turning on his brothers and sisters
• When Unicron is vanquished by Prima (with the Matrix), The Fallen flees

G1 Era:

• The Fallen finds the surviving essence of Unicron
• Unicron guides him through a process to release a single Spark from his own, and sends it to Cybertron
  
• Unicon tasks The Fallen with finding and killing Prima
• He succeeds, but is greatly injured in the battle
  
• He pleads to his dark master for aid, but Unicron just laughs
• The Fallen's body drifts through space on the brink of death

G2 Era:

• The Fallen's body is discovered by Jhiaxus and his crew that fled Cybertron and its warring tyrants
• The Fallen lies to them, claiming to be the Liege Maximo, one of The 13
  
• They resort him to health
• The Fallen teaches them the process Unicron taught him, releasing new Sparks from their own
• They create the Cybertronian Empire
  
• He tasks them with building The Hub to necessitate his ascension to godhood

I think all of his origins are intresting. (Herald, sun harvester, Solus)

 

Evil Prime isn't unique anyways, it seems like the writers go out of the way to make every non-13 non-Optimus Prime a massive asshole.

 

I believe that The Fallen's origin should be that he got up.

 

 

The Matrix was around before Autobots/Decepticons, also it wouldn't have opened if that was the case, Starscream had to give it up since it tried to make him do good
