Or maybe we could perhaps be a little more concerned that hundreds of employees that are likely going to be laid off? Being laid off suddenly because of actions of others beyond your control seriously sucks.

At major corporations you will find major corruption. And you will find major ability to get away with it.

I wonder if this has anything to do with Generation’s lines being halved.

Even eBay has its cheerleaders despite all of its anemic growth in the exploding e-commerce sector coming from fees on rising shipping costs.

    To be fair

I don`t think this is the first tie this has happened in Hasbro`s long history, buut this is no time to be shitting on Hasbro for doing a bad job with the TF figures, I mean after all, what were the Transformers originally made for? Little Children, if you guys wanted more complex transformations, not only do we have the third party Transformers like Apollyion, or however his name was spelt, but there`s also past TF figures like the Revenge of the Fallen Leader Class Optimus Prime mold, as well as the Masterpiece toyline

And I don`t think Hasbro`s gonna lose money over this, I mean hell (as awkward as this might be, it is still technically true to an extent) the My Little Pony toyline seems to be doing well, as does the merch, plus they`re gonna do the Power Rangers toyline for next year too

But here`s what I think Hasbro needs to do for Transformers fans: Do what they`ve been doing since the days of old, they can still give us the less complex Transformer figures, but keep them in line with younger children, and give the other fans the complex transformations of old

Awful news for those losing their jobs but I think the writing was on the wall for TF sales. They are just too hard to find in the UK. I want to buy them locally but fuck is it hard. I can travel to 4 (was 6 at one point) toy stores, 2 comic stores and god knows how many super markets in and around manchester. all of them will be stocking the same first wave for months and no longer in a prime spot it's all on lower pegs and nothing bigger then a DLX unless it's one of those cheap looking jumbo toys.

If Hasbro had just remade/made what I wanted they wouldn't be in this mess! I, a consumer with personal bias and no knowledge of marketing and corporate practices, clearly know better than an entire company's worth of professionals!

That security fraud stuff is pretty telling, though.

The unfortunate reality of these big corporations. It's why these things are taken so seriously, and why we're seeing this push for synergy with a G1-style. TLK fucking crippled Transformers, and they're scrambling to present some facet of stability and health with a clear, consistent brand image and goal.

Might come as a shock to you buddy but you are on a site dedicated to a childrens toy franchise, none of us will be taken seriously.

What are the point of the Windblade comments? I swear that if this board was around d in the 80s, every new character would generate a tantrum.

Huh- and I thought HAS has been doing pretty well lately.

Star Wars crap didn't help TRU; Star Wars Crap + TRU isn't helping HASBRO.
As for The Last Knight... well, can't sell any toys if they don't hit retail; but I'm told over and over that HASBRO is perfect in all that they do, and if there aren't any figures on shelves then it's a conspiracy by retailers to sell more potato chips.
Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for TLK Wave 3 and above to hit my area.

Honestly, I'm not feeling any doom or gloom over this. HASBRO will be fine.

The My Little Pony Movie was a flatline. Stretch Armstrong, Littlest Pet Shop, and Hanazuki didn’t go anywhere. Hasbro’s only big winner this year seems to be Dungeons & Dragons.

It's easy to play the blame game here, but it's so early on in us learning about this that anything at this point is almost pure speculation. Hopefully Hasbro will come out of this all right, and anyone laid off can find good work elsewhere.

At most, the Transformers brand is just a fraction of the issue here given Hasbro makes many, many different brands of toys.

And The Last Knight, despite its flaws as a movie, actually did pretty good as a toy-line from what I have heard, whatever complaints fans may have with distribution. I actually really like the toy-line.
