When Megatron reawakens, he rockets out of the ocean and blasts straight into space and then suddenly appears on some alien planet where he reunites with Starscream and the Fallen. At first I thought it might be Mars due to the short time lapse, but it looked nothing like it. I feel like it was meant to be Cybertron, but the only thing thats distracting from the plotline is how quickly he suddenly showed up. And unless Megatron has the warp-jump thing that the Fallen has (which we never see any other time), why did it take him minutes to arrive instead of years?

The Nemesis is supposed to be on Mars, but the appearance of a ringed planet nearby makes me think it's one of Saturn's moons.

Not Earth. That's all that matters.

Honestly, though - people are only saying Saturn because the planet is ringed, and because the idea that he could leave the solar system and return in such a short space of time is pretty ridiculous (but to my mind, the idea that he can get to freaking SATURN and back so fast is not particularly any less ridiculous). The comics put the ship on Mars, while the novelization puts it on an unnamed dead world. It really could be anydangwhere.

I think it's supposed to be one of Saturn's moons, but it could be another planet in a different solar system.

Oh, and according to Chris Mowry (author of The Reign of Starscream), the ship on Mars (which is the ship Starscream used to follow Megatron and the Allspark) is not the Nemesis. So if the ship that Megatron goes to is the Nemesis, then it is a different ship and it isn't on Mars.

I believe he lands on Saturn's moon, Titan.

I don't know if they did their research on that moon, but there are photos of the surface of Titan that have what looks like ruins of big spaceships and whatnot. One of them looks VERY close to the shape of the Nemesis in the movie. Regardless of what's REALLY on the surface, I'm slightly curious if this is why they might've picked that location.

    Ambiguity is a harsh mistress.

...so its all of the above, yet, possibly, none of the above...sure, that clears things up. :thumbs2:

Seriously, OP, I had the same issue. I walked out of the cinema thinking 'Cybertron'. I was told on this forum it was this Nemesis ship that had crashed somewhere in our solar system (one of Saturn's moons, but it could have been any ringed planet IMO).
Now I know it, its OK, but as I said in some other thread here, it needs clarification beyond the prequel material (which also depends on which version - Mars, Saturn, etc) that not everyone reads.
Heck, one review I read in the paper said the Fallen was in another dimension and came through into ours and where that came from I have no idea!!

When I saw ROTF last night, it looked like Megatron ended up somewhere within the lines of Saturn and its moons.

What bugs me is that when Megatron takes off from the Ocean the next scene he's in space. Anyone realize the ENORMOUS amount of time it would take to get to saturn. Even at light-speed it still would take a few thousand years, give or take a few hundred. Unless Megatron can open worm holes or something, which is highly unlikely.

Actually at light speed travel, it would take only a few hours to travel from earth to saturn if not minutes.

Saturn is about 9,5697 A.E. away from the Sun.
1 A.E. is the distance from the Sun to the Earth.
Light takes about 8 minutes too reach the Earth.
Saturn is roughly 9,5*8 = 76 minutes from the Sun and 76-8 = 68 minutes from Earth
