Birds of Prey was good. So was Superman. JSA is always good, although its first OYL story isn't the best I've seen from that title.

Aquaman. Seriously. It ranked right up there with Detective Comics & Superman as the best OYL title to date. Great writing with a fascinating hook (no puns intended) and breathtaking art.

    Ditto.

Also, I'd like to add, avoid Outsiders, it's the worst title I've picked up out of em all.

The OYL stuff has been pretty good -- nothing exceptional. Aquaman and Superman are both solid picks.

Also, D+ for Birds of Prey is just wrong. It's a solid issue -- nothing special, but certainly not bad.

After reading those reviews, I think I may try to find the Superman one.

Superman was good, though the arc is being spread between the various Superman books so you might find it easier to wait for the trade. I hate when they do that.

pttp to trade waiting. That's fine for crap like New Avengers where there's no story in a single issue and it takes three minutes to read. But this is comics is dense as hell and there's no way you'd get me to wait till September to find out how this story develops.
that's like dropping the old TF weekly from Marvel UK for a trade. :thumbdown

Nothing I've ever read containing superman was "dense as hell".

But then again, he's one of the most boring characters ever created.

Superman was a very fun book. The type of high calibur stuff you'd expect from busiek. Detective was also a great read. JSA bored me. I didn't get Green Arrow or Nightwing but now wish I did. However Nightwing is getting a second printing so I'll get one of those.

I'm pretty sure he is the most boring. If it weren't for Batman basically saying he was better off dead; and that seemingly having 'some' impact on his titles, I'd have dropped everything during the Sacrfice arc. I mean, I'm really enjoying the new stuff so far, but I still can't stand the character. oxymoron much?

Aquaman was suprisingly well done. Nightwing was good, as was Detective Comics and Superman. Birds of Prey was a decent issue, good starting point.

One of the rare moments me and DevilzFan agree. I'm only interested to get my Supergirl fix.

I'll reserve judgement on Supergirl as a character until she finally has a decent writer. The current series is among the worst comics I think I've ever read, both in terms of story and art. I'd be delighted if Rucka was getting a real artist for his run. Amanda Conner would be ideal. She can draw sexy superherorines without resorting to the Liefeld Art School of Human Anatomy. That Turner/Churchill cover to SG #5 looked like she had stretched out pasta for a lower torso. She'd need eight extra sets of ribs to support that frame.
