After being around since movie 1 and in general what movies do you think are the pinnacle of film making that have nothing plot hole or otherwise you can't pick apart just as easy as a movie that's supposed to be a fun action movie.

I mean there must be one movie that you actually can enjoy without getting physically ill and bother you on a personal level like some of you act like these movies make you.

I would really like to know.

You're not just going to desperately grab for any tiny little inconsistency in these movies in some ill-guided attempt to "prove" they are somehow no better than Bay's films, are you?

    Ghostbusters
    Jurassic Park
    Pacific Rim
    Lord of the Rings
    Star Trek II, IV, VI
    Avengers
    Iron Man 1, 2, 3
    Thor 1, 2
    Captain America 1, 2
    Batman Begins
    Dark Knight
    Dark Knight Returns
    Hellboy 1, 2
    The Incredibles
    Brave
    Wall-E
    Indiana Jones 1, 3
Back to the Future 1, 3
    The Lego Movie
    Shaun of the Dead
    Hot Fuzz

All these movies I qualify as much better in quality than any of the 5 TF movies.
And that's just off the top of my head. All personal preference, though.

All of those movies had better writers. one of the biggest complaints critics and moviegoers have about the tf films is the poor writing

The point of a movie is to tell a story. AOE was a shitty story, thus a shitty movie.

Actually, this is the first thread asking what movies people actually like or think are fantastic movies

The others are either praising or complaining about the bay movies.

I have these on my dvd shelf but admittedly there are parts of these that have flimsy parts as well.

That doesn't make them bad movies though and unable to be enjoyed by a mass audience.

    Ghostbusters
    Jurassic Park
    Lord of the Rings
    Iron Man 1, 2
    Hellboy 1, 2
    Shaun of the Dead
    Hot Fuzz

Not that the others aren't good.

Yeah, I second that. I tried to watch IR2 after I got it used on blu-ray, but it just didn't do it for me like the first Iron Man.

You had Whiplash, Black widow, Stark's family legacy, Rhodey's becoming War Machine, Hammer as the Anti-Stark, Drones, more set up regarding SHIELD, etc.

The sequel felt too full of trying to be bigger and better. There were some CG sequences that reminded me of those in ROTF : they looked like they were rushed through to meet a completion date.

The butthurt runs strong with you, yes it does.

Seriously though, are the negative opinions held by others for movies that you like really that important? Does it eat you up inside knowing that something that you enjoy watching can be picked apart on almost every technical level besides personal enjoyment? And what does listing any other prove really? That you can find something to pick apart to prove they aren't perfect? Hate to break to break to you. but no film is perfect. Just so happens that Bay's movies have these pickable things in spades. Trying to tear down other films just to make yourself feel better about these films is no way to go about enjoying the franchise. They're extremely flawed, embrace the flawed-ness...you'll enjoy them a whole lot better.

    Threads like these, SMH.

And lol, by the fan movement to try and scapegoat the film's mistakes on the writers. Brings a joyful tear to my eye.

They aren't coherent or well written and are rather huge messes.

Doesn't mean they aren't fun but they are not objectively good films.

The only credible film on that list are Wall-E & TDK trilogy.

And this why posting any list is silly. An animated film and a trilogy that has many plotholes are one person's only "credible" films.

I'd watch any of the first 3 Bionicles all day long.
