Sometime paint but most of the time it's seeing a bent weapon.
This one. One other consideration is the overall look of the figure. Reviews do help also.
The paint on TRU Rodimus used to turn me off but then I wanted him. However, his arm breaking when out of the box turned me off again...
Sucking is really all I can think of,and that's a MAJOR issue. It's also why I'm not getting DOTM Air Raid
You really should get them. The lack of paint isn't as bad in person
Really? I got DOTM barricade and I was SEVERELY underwhelmed.
That said. I passed on WFC Soundwave the other day because it had BLU overspray on the yellow chest bit. I COULD HAVE just ignored it or fixed it myself but why?
I hope I can find one soon. my Walmart's loaded down with Thundercracker/Wheeljack now...
Guess this would be a bad time to say that Soundwave is pegwarming pretty much everywhere in my city right now, haha. Heck, even if one of the places is selling it at a higher price & won't match, you could always buy both & just return the shitty one.
im passing on DOM Sideswipe cuz of the fugly gray plastic
even tho the mold looks cool [and he has a neat looking mechtech gun. which i cant say for a lot of the other DOTM figs!]
The shitty gray plastic was a pretty major issue for me, though. Well that, and the fact that I've never liked convertibles in general, already had the ROTF & have yet to find the DOTM one stores, hhaa.
The paint isn't as bad in person, trust me.
The colour - in terms of both repaints and just generally gruesome colour.
If there's way too much Movieverse aesthetic in a mold that isn't movieverse, I'll pass it by. Bludgeon, Terradive, and almost all the RTS Scouts and Voyagers.
Bludgeon and Terradive are officially movieverse. RTS gave us a mix of G1 and Movie designs though mostly G1.
Colors, really. I probably would've bought DOTM Sideswipe and Jolt by now if it weren't for the fact that 1) they're mostly unpainted plastic and 2) that plastic is not in an attractive color. If Jolt had been cast in the same blue as ROTF, I would have snapped him up the moment I saw him. Sideswipe... well, I own at least one of each of the previous two molds, so I knew I had to complete the trifecta, but that grey plastic is pretty uninspiring. So I'm instead getting Darksteel and calling it cool. I mean, he may have a strange mash-up of colors due to his homage, but it's much more visually appealing than unpainted grey PVC.
Trust me,Sideswipe does not dissapoint, paint job isn't as great, but articulation is FAR better than any previous Sideswipe
this statement is false, if you compare it to the overall price increases that have occured from rising production cost and compare it to the price of MP-09 rodimus and see just how much plastic and engineering is in it, yes, it is a $250+ toy
I know it doesnt' go in the thread, but its a lack of knowledge that so many people have that i am trying to correct
anywho, on topic, outside lack of money, availibility, i don't let minor issues stop me, though i would have the classics repaint constructicons if wal-mart wasn't an idiot and got rid of layaway
You are the only person other than me who thinks so. I've been talked down to for thinking that ever since they came out.
Bludgeon is under the ROTF line...Last time I checked, ROTF is movieverse. Then Terradive is under HFTD, an extention of the movie line...
The Ironman Crossover Hummer. I really wanted the gun, but I found out from other members that had the toy in-hand that it was made out of that softer, rubbery plastic, which I hate.
Guy...guys... the OP is talking about toy flaws, not price.
ive looked at the toy in stores
its that bad
