Yeah, that's mostly why I've been skeptical of people asking for updates on most of the Energon Autobots (that aren't Omnicons). Considering how Powerlinking was literally their whole thing, I doubt most could be made on a standard budget without compromising at least one mode. Like, it'll at least take Voyager for the smaller Autobots, I'd say. Really, only Bulkhead and Landmine (especially the latter, seeing how he was repurposed in IDW2) have a shot with the modern budget in my eyes, seeing that they really only need to combine with their Brute Mode stuff, which seems in line for most of the WFC Leader molds.

That could be why HasTak is holding out on Energon representation in Legacy I think they’re trying to figure out how to represent them. But seeing how Cyber planet keys and minicons were gutted I wouldn’t be surprised if we got Energon characters with their powerlinx gimmicks cut

I also am of the opinion that Overlord is a Duocon, as well as POTP Sky Shadow. And pretty much every version of Omega Supreme is an Autobot equivalent. But I would like to see more. :D

I did like someone's idea of vehicle scale transformers but what would the scale be?

they could throw in a blast effect every now and then. I know it's not the focus gimmick any more but it's damn cool. I noticed the guns in legacy are still being made blast-effect compatible, but it won't be long before kids no longer have any blast effects to go with them.

Not sure this would be considered a "gimmick" per se, but I want a lot more in scale human figurines included as an accessory sprinkled in the line here and there.

I’d just like them to drop the color change gimmick they’ve had going on the past few lines.

What I want is Glow in the dark gimmick. Imagine the white Ultra Magnus that glows whole body when you turn off the light. That would be awesome.[IMG]

I don't know if it'd be too expensive to do on retail or not, but I'd love to see some TF figures with that chameleon pigment style paint job. You know, the one that changes colors depending on how the light hits it!

I also always love it when a figure manages to do a lot of compression between modes, it adds a lot of wow factor to a transformation when you end up going from a smallish, flat sports car to a big, bold bot. The reverse would be fun too, like a squat, stocky robot folding out into a super long, lanky praying mantis or something like that.

Finally I'd love to see Mech Alive make a comeback, such a subtle, unobtrusive gimmick that went a long way to sell the idea you have actual robotic beings in your hands instead of plastic toys. I also apprecialte when they go out of their way to make the joints on a TF look less toyetic and more like actual machinery. Even if you don't have the budget for actual pistons, there are some clever ways of creating the illusion of them with the right sculpting (the Yolopark Primal's elbow joints are a pretty good recent example).

Oh, I just love it when Hasbro directly caters to the Frank Zappa fan in me!
