Michael Bay'll do his own dam thing when it comes to Transformers, as per usual.

    why?

because he's got more money than sense!

I'd argue against all those points, especially since that blogger seems to be embellishing things a little TOO much in promoting the series (not to mention overlooking the obvious, since he crows about Peter Cullen in Prime but ignores mentioning Cullen was Optimus in the movies as well), but I'll refrain from starting another argument chain here.

Oh God, the last thing I want is anybody "learning" from Prime.

That's just what we need, two and a haf straight hours of theatrical boredom. No thanks. I'll take "******ed if entertaining at least" over "One shall stand darkest hour will fall made of sterner stuff that must be stopped no matter the cost."

What are you talking about? Prime has plenty to teach.

At least in the "how NOT to do things" category.

Lets see. He can learn to overuse 1986 quotes, make half the movie a relic hunt, and make his Optimus so damn boring!

I'd love it if some of Prime's more epic battles could be replicated in the movieverse. Imagine the awesome visceral brutality of Movie Megatron versus an equally monstrous Insecticon.

I think it should be the other way around. TFP needs to learn to make AWESOME fights compared to just running around and shooting down fodder without getting hit.

Come full circle then? The dynamic and kinetic movieverse fights are definitely a basis for what TFP tries to do with its battles. But yeah, I'd like to see more fist-fights/hand-to-hand combat in the movies, like TFP does. Just no laser-spamming, please.

I haven't read the article, but I think there are several things that the future of live-action Transformers could take from TFP. Not in a "blatantly copy them in order to be exactly like TFP"-way, more of a "just see what they did with X? Isn't that a little better than Y?"-way.

    Little things like...

-having some conversation between the 'Bots when they stand around in a military base.
-having a military character who's funny, enjoyable and not a complete dick/joke but doesn't steal the show away from the robot characters
-a "human villain" in the form of a terrorist technology group could be cool

If the past has proven anything to us about Bayformers, it's that while there are definitely things that get worse as the series progresses, Bay does seem to improve upon things as well. One step forward, one step back. But not all of the things from TFP are worth "learning" from.

I think PRIME can learn a thing or 2 from the films.

I'd say the films could learn a thing or two from Rescue Bots.

As a matter of fact, I'm still hoping for TF4: Rise of the Rescue Bots.

The Prime hate in this thread is delicious :D

Movie 1 wast quite a relic hunt.

RoTF had a small one, but it finished quickly. It wasn't like a half of a season.

Prime has had some pretty damn good looking scenes. The melee fights in prime are more stylish and elegant than the movies but the movies make shootouts look fking kool. Hell the movies could probably put more character in movie ratchet from looking at prime ratchet. Maybe a knockout like con, one of my fav cons in prime. Simpler designs that look complicated

prime started out taking some of the Movie aesthetic i mean we alraedy got a not very good bumblebee from the movies and it has cherry picked there best bit with the cinematic fighting style.

What else from the movies would you actually want? as for me they are a bit of a mess of poor and hard to follow storytelling, unsympathetic human characters and paperthin characters built entirely on dodgy steriotypes

I would be completely okay with this.

Live-action Dr. Morocco? Played by Tim Curry himself? Yes, please.
