I've been noticing that (1985) G1 Roadbuster's value (even in loose/complete condition) has been going up considerably in recent years.

Was Roadbuster rare during his initial release in 1985? I don't really remember seeing him on shelves during 1985 as a kid, but then again, my awareness may not be accurate from all those many moons ago.

Or is the value based upon it is a challenge to acquire a complete set since there are so many different pieces especially the easily lost range finder, missiles and fragile antenna?

I'd love to hear everyone's opinion and take on the topic.

Probably increased popularity due to his usage in IDW's Wreckers series', coupled with the fact that he has a lot of small parts.
