Check out Runescape videos. That is what I am assuming until proven otherwise. But officially, no I don't think we've got a confirmed genre.
If it's the same thing as TF Online, then it will be a web browser based third person shooter, probably with some RPG elements added in. Probably won't be a large open world, and instead have several hubs/maps. Think Autobot HQ as the hub and meeting place, and then being able to groundbridge to other locations to do quests there. That's my guess at least.
I'm kind of thinking it might play similarly to something like City of Heroes, in where you pick "powers" and abilities that you upgrade as you level up your character. That seems probable.
Something like City of Heroes/Champions would be awesome. I really love exploring, so a mix of that and Runescape is what I'm hoping for. The space bridge idea is possible, maybe there could be something like Fallout where you can bridge to known locations.
Probably a mediocre one to be honest given the developers track record. I expect it to impress a little with the character creator, but leave a lot to be desired from a gameplay standpoint. It might be a decent time kill, but it's not going to be a Guild Wars 2 megaton. Or I'll eat my hat.
As long as it's got a good character creator (and especially if you can have multiple save files), I just hope it's a decent time killer. Been spending WAAAY too much time on Team Fortress 2 lately and I need something else to play online. Which one? According to your TF2 backpack, you have quite a few hats.
